I hope they do show something, and I think they should.
Wasn't last year's waiting-horror-cat-armageddon more because of a mentioned: Soon™ ... or ... Next month! ...

But probably I'm confusing this with the 1.0 release ... :D

That was the 1.2 hysteria.

Yeah that was 1.2

I still wake up at night seeing cats.....
Formally known as CnuTram.

Ohhhhh.... so that explains all the cats. I came across that thread while doing some research (just started using Bitwig) and was wondering why there were cat meme posts everywhere.

1. Per Note Expression for third party VSTs
2. Movie import
3. Flexible MIDI Channel routing/switching
per note expression for VSTs works for those implementing MPE, which in fairness is what BWS set out to achieve... it would be nice if they had more flexibility to support u-he, which is not MPE compliant.
BUT i think its more likely u-he will add MPE compliance...

however, id like to see BWS include MPE support for hardware devices too (via their 'hardware device')

Flexible Midi routing, yes please... in particular allow us to filter by midi channel without having to have 16 copies of the same device! (i.e. the 'controller per channel trick')

a wish of my own.... extend the controller API further.

Its amazing the API still doesn't allow a new device to be added ... its really holds back the fantastic work done by Push2Bitwig.

I do not miss it either, if I absolutely need it I'll just set the time signature to 1/4 or 1/8, etc. and place the accents/start the phrase where ever appropriate in the composition itself to make it sound like it's in a particular time signature, really not a big deal.
that's not a solution, it's a workaround...

anyway, i hope it's coming soon.

i have to use another DAW for the time being until this feature is implemented.

You can already route 16 midi tracks to 1 vst instrument. What more do you want?

Im surprised that no one misses audio crossfades... Seems to me to be the most basic feature missing from bitwig... Hoping it pops up in an update soon

I never said it was a solution.

That's not what I was asking. I want to be able to switch between the 16 MIDI Channels within a single track, like this:

The example above shows this feature in Logic X. Very easy and flexible. I don't want to have to create 16 instrument tracks and manually route them. thetechnobear gets it:

It's not that simple for every composition.

-Some plugins require the host to automate the signature.
-The clip launcher needs to know the signature of each clip to make use of the "Next" function properly.
-Snapping to the grid will not work properly.
-Not easy to get a visual representation of whats going on and where meters line up.

That's just some off of the top of my head.

Absolutely. I merely stated how I would go about with the situation. And I wouldn't even dream of using any of the "Next" functions with different signatures in this point in time (where different time signatures are not supported).

Well, a grid is a grid. You will still be able to line things up and snap, snap does not turn off unless you disable it. It's just that because if the song is in 1/4 or 1/8, every beat will be the "1", and you will have to keep track of where you are by yourself without the metronome telling you where it is.
