I sold Falcon as it didn't really offer much new and I definitely prefer Mach Five's gui and workflow. Could not follow Falcon's easily.
That you didn't follow Falcon easily, I can understand. That you found Falcon doesn't offer much new, I can only accept because you didn't understood it, and therefore, got lost. It indeed has a lot more to offer.

I said the Falcon library is small, which more or less implied the Mach Five one isn't... but you're right, I didn't mention Mach Five library, which has some gems, because, for those who have it, they can still use everything inside Falcon. For those who don't, that's not reason enough to opt for Mach Five instead.

IMO, of course. But I'm glad you are happy as you are :)

This is simply wrong, Falcon added a new multi-granular engine similar to the one in HALion 5 with as many keygroups as you want so you can also granulate multi-sampled instruments/sample maps. It introduced a new physical modeling oscillator, a new wavetable player, new and improved effects and filters, meanwhile at version 1.1.4 the changes are so numerous I can't even write them out here and things are getting better with each update.

I hope it keeps getting sold and plummets in used price. I want to buy it only for the sounds, because Falcon's factory library is woefully limited and far too light in sample based content.
Tangled roots perplex her ways.

I've been a MF3 user for a couple of years and I love the versatility in sound design and GUI which allows very fine adjustments that some other samplers cannot offer.

While I think the bundled Acousticsamples libraries are decent, I can't say they are the best. F278 (Grand Piano), The Upright (Double Bass), Mark79 (Rhodes), Telematic (E-Guitar) and the rest are more than usable, but you'll eventually find their competitor libaries have better sound (for me at least).

If you are after so-so quality multisampled instruments, go for it. Otherwise there are heaps of better specialised alternatives in today's market.

This is not "simply wrong". You.. as a programmer.. got a lot out of it. Others felt it was very similar. Depends what floats your boat. I found the new granular engine disappointing. Since it debuted they have added features it's true.

But how can one have a feeling about facts? You can't feel that they did not add a physical modeling oscillator or a new time-stretch oscillator or a new wavetable player with optional image re-synthesis or a new multi-granular engine or a new delay or a second convolution engine or new filters or a much improved FM oscillator or a new waveshaper or a new chorus FX or a much improved multi envelope or a completely re-designed interface. That was my whole point, it's not about floating boats and feelings when it comes to simple facts.

I have both M53 and Falcon. I prefer the GUI quite a bit on MachFive3. I do miss the pluck engine, now that I've heard the Falcon.

M53 gets me further faster.
