Not gorgeous, but pretty nice: http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=172339

IMHO way better than new dark Sonar, Cubase, Logic, S1, Tracktion and etc.
No, certainly not gorgeous, not even it's own mother would say so. And seriously, not even close to any of the software you listed.

This is your "pretty nice"

What's yours btw, all you do in here is dropping dump on Reaper?
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

Exactly, same as dark/black color GUi's, some people love them, I can't even look at them for long, pretty unusable AFAIC, but still, just my own preference, would take ugly over unusable any day. :tu:

But then, if you need to dress, and tweak something for it to make it look okay, then there's an issue in the first place. The default look has been improved from v3 to v4, yes, but i still don't like it. And it doesn't adress miles long drop down menus, or the ugly plugin windows either. The problem is a fundamental one IMO. If you consider it a problem of course. If you're fine with it, you're fine. Whatever.
in other words 'pretty pictures on a UI are not the UI'. :tu:

Bitwig (modern, slick) or Live (engineer-like, incredibly usable in practice, transparent, my current DAW) for example, or pretty much anything, I don't have a clear favourite. FL is advanced, Cubase and Logic of course very refined... Really, most DAWs come with appropriately, clean looking and fully designed UIs. Except reapturd.

Nothing wrong with dumping on the ugliest DAW by the way, it deserves it.

Thank you .jon - we REALLY need your constant opinion on that! Keep up the good work! :tu:

well I for one really like the Samplitude gui, it's skinable but you do still get the same layout. I'm on Pro X2 still but I understand that skins previously that had to be purchased from a third party are now included in Pro X3.

Cubase wins it for me. I'm actually sticking with my current version v7.5 mainly because the GUI (and performance too) has changed for v8 and I prefer this one.

I've heard that C8+ could be configured to look like C7.5 but since its community is not so active no one has put up a theme as such that one could try out.

Reaper's GUI - the default one doesn't work for me. Rado dark variant worked for me for many years, and so did the prologic one, but the latter was incomplete. BUT like others have pointed out, the menu clusterfuck reveals what lies beneath no matter what theme it is.

I have to add a vote for Wavelab 9 (OK, maybe not a DAW per se, but certainly a host/audio editor). I really love the changes in the look and layout, compared to the earlier versions.

Yeah. I don't find sh** in it though, lol... it's a matter of getting used to it for sure, but, the changes are quite revolutionary. :)

That looks very nice indeed. Clear, clean and neutral but still has that polished feel.
