We love the workflow and definitely love that you can lfo everything.

However, apart from that we would rather see new workflow improvements than more updates on modular system. At the end of the day, we make music for radio / festivals and youtube listeners.
No "we" don't. You do.

I spoke about myself and producers I know. That was my beginning sentence.

But to get back on topic, how much more modular does a producer need? I doubt anyone is making full use of bitwig at this moment.

Watching the NAMM video I'm even more disappointed in v2 vs. the upgrade cost.

~5:18 - "It hasn't changed that much since 1.0..."

I'm really hoping there is some early incentive pricing on v2.

@thecrumb

He is talking about the GUI at that point in time...

So in this world why would anyone use reaktor, bidule or max? I can never have enough modularity. I always have ideas of 'if i can modulate X with Y and trigger them both with Z' but there are always boundaries. Bringing this level of modular control over parameters up to the DAW level is exactly what i've been waiting for. Max for Live was an interesting idea and step towards this but executed in a very different way.

The Bitwig v1 style of needing to embed devices inside a chain in a modulator (e.g. LFO) becomes very cumbersome once you go past 1 modulator and device, so for me the V2 modulator system is a great leap forwards.

Maybe this update won't be useful for you in particular, but for many others. Everyone (Also non-modular users) using Bitwig would benefit from the modular unlock since it means people will be able to make and share homemade devices to the rest of the community. That's why we need more modular. This modulation system is only a stepping stone towards that.

I agree, we should push boundaries, expand our horizons and all the fun stuff but ultimately, there's much more to production than modulation. I'm just saying, it's another way to create interesting sounds but not focus entirely upon it.

I can't wait to see some improvements on sampler, drum machine, piano roll.

$169 USD is quite a lot for a stepping stone if you ask me.
and like LimEboy, i prefer Bitwig's workflow over most DAWS, but it might be worth it to switch. There's still too much missing to justify that upgrade price.

I'm also quite looking forward to the new system. I'm looking forward to using the new modulatino system with Reaktor Blocks. It will make it so much easier than loading modulators in reaktor. Instead, now you can have more simple blocks ensembles with just oscillators, filters and effects and set up the modulation with bitwig modulators. It'll be a nice combo I think.

Not that I don't have my disappointments. Shocked that Sampler got no love as it needs fades as bad as clips needed fades. Among other things. But not a huge deal, I can go on not using it for now.

Drum-Machine and Sampler was made using the modular system. If they don't release an improved Sampler or whatever soon, then wait till the modular unlock so the passionate community can improve the devices we need improved. If the current additions (crossfades, improved UI, modulators, modulating system, hardware integration, spectrum analyzer, midi devices, effect devices, VST3 support, dashboard, improved workflow) are not justifying the 169$, then for gods sake wait. Rome wasn't made in one day.

If we didn't, it's because they havent implemented it yet.
