OK understood. The issue however is that I have no information as to which MuX presets these messages refer to. I just get a warning about missing samples and that's it. Could we possibly have info wrt the specific MuX this message is about?
Thanks

Try this: MuLab menu -> Tools -> Show Log.sl23 wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 8:01 am OK understood. The issue however is that I have no information as to which MuX presets these messages refer to. This will give more detailed info while upgrading projects / presets.

I would think that because you created them from midi files there isnt really a claim to intellectual property. The same as detecting transients of a Micheal Jackson song and creating a groove template from them....viceverser wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:18 pmIt's the Swing Grooves (TimeGrid) for old drum machines and samplers... So it's actually the timing of the respective Machines (MPC60, SP 1200... etc). It's not unique sequences, it's literally just like "MPC60 16 Swing 50" at different swing percentages up to 80 (in the MPC60 group) And 8 Triplet and 16 Triplet.sl23 wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 7:42 pm It's pretty simple to upgrade it all. Just wanted to get everything up to date.
When you say grooves, you mean sequences? I don't know if that's a copyright issue or not. The manual should tell you if you are allowed to share such things or whether they remain the property of the manufacturer.
I'm converting them into the TimeGrid format (Basically adding a point at the end to signify the bar end and then saving in the GRID editor) For easy use. NOT the original midi.
I will have a quick look later, but my intuition tells me that as they are taking the timings from other peoples/companies machines and releasing it free it would be VERY ostentatious of them to assert it is theirs to limit... I may be wrong tho, so my offer is there if anyone want's to have them in the MuLab TimeGrid format.
Thanks again for the effort![]()

Yeah, as far as I'm aware, if you recreate something it has no copyright, but if it's copied it has copyright. Hence why ReactOS is a legal recreation of the Windows OS.

Design and Patents might cover the original, and the recreation might thus still be in violation of those. The recreation itself would be subject to copyright of its own creators. (At least, that's how I understand it.)if you recreate something it has no copyright

True. I suppose it depends what it is. Software, like a synth patch, maybe subject to copyright, but if you happen to make an identical patch to Roland, who's to say you don't have the right to use it?
You and me have been here before, it didn't end well and I don't want to go down that road. Few people understand my point of view and so I'll back out of this one. No offence intended.

Not at all, Mars captured midi grooves from 27 drum machines just for this purpose! No licence. They made groove presets for Ableton, and you are doing the same for MuLab.viceverser wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 7:12 pmI'm currently creating GRID presets of the Grooves from Mars free Sampler/Drum machine midi grooves pack and am wondering if it was OK to share in MuLib or was that somehow a line crossing for someone?

I'm a big chunk of the way through, have been slammed recently, Here in Mauritius there's been some cyclones and so our power has been out randomly, once lasted 3 days, so yeah, between that and getting a generator installed, and regular life with a couple of kids it's been rough, but I will finish as soon as I can... So should I just post here a link when done and you can handle adding to google drive?
I no longer use Google services for security reasons so I don't use an account for google drive... Am happy to post here tho.
