No, I don't think so. Yes, RC-20 is the benchmark for these kind of plugins. And sure, you can do a lot with these multi-FX plugins, but the modules are often limited compared to single plugins.maschineuk wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 7:50 amRC-20 replaces most, I agree!JerGoertz wrote: Sun Feb 23, 2025 1:06 am Here are some (try the demo's):

There are different kinds of vintage sounds. Old digital hardware, old tape, old tubes, etc. Lots of plugins to choose from.
However, the biggest factor are the sounds themselves. So, for live drums, certain kinds of kits tuned a certain way, and for digital drums, the right samples.

VectoMelt on parallel vocal tracks is so much fun. Think Softube Layers but extreme.

The Blue Tube lineup is supposed to be the next upgrades released. In fact, this was supposed to happen by the end of last year. But promised release dates have been routinely slipped in this ongoing effort. So far, though, everything released has been worth the wait.JerGoertz wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:18 amGood call, I found that some of the Blue Tubes stuff distorts in a very pleasing and gritty way when you drive it hard. Sounds "vintage".dmbaer wrote: Sun Feb 23, 2025 9:21 pm A great many of the Nomad Factory plugins are perfect for adding a vintage vibe. The NF Integral Studio Pack is often available for around 100 bucks (not at the moment, however). NF is in the process of upgrading all the plug-ins in the pack, which includes added features, VST3 support and more, but this has been a gradual process and there's still a long way to go to get them all upgraded. Still, buy the pack now (or when next on sale) and you get all the forthcoming upgrades for free. If you can live with some VST2 plugins for a while, the Integral Studio Pack on sale is a seriously good deal (under $2 per plugin, some of which are very good).

Something I never played around with until yesterday. Ozone has a Vintage Tape module. It's very good.
