and tbh I'm really sick of this f**king stupid argument - I'll now give the same replies as usual if someone comes up with this bullshit:
I cannot recommend highly enough this simple wonderful application:

I don't have the time to learn a new DAW every few weeks..
The tools you use are much less important than the music you make with them..

I would rather have one good guitar that feels like an extension of my body, than a collection of priceless vintage guitars that all feel strange..
Tracktion feels comfortable to me, and did so almost straight away, so I just need to have musical ideas, I don't have to figure out how to implement them. (My shift from Cubase was prompted solely by the SX change: I thought "if I have to learn a new sequencer anyway I might aswell look around at the other alternatives." .. otherwise I would still be using it.

I hear you..... though I have to admit.... that FLStudio is growing more on me.... can't replace Tracktion though in terms of audio recording / ease of use / "arm extension" feel / etc....
but VSTi/MIDI wise it is

well, I for one can't really seperate composing and producing - I'm more like a classical composer who always thinks about orchestrating it when he's got a nice melody - and the sequencer (in combination with plugins of course) is my orchestra - of course I can also work with a bad/small orchestra but it ain't half as much fun - when Strawinsky conducted one of his pieces he cared for the most tiny details
- e.g. he could talk for five minutes with a triangle-player about how exactly to hit the triangle at one certain stroke... - what does that tell about his ability as a composer? - nothing because both abilities are part of one big picture but they are actually independent from each other even if they both influence the result!
journalist: that wasn't your best race, was it?
formula-one driver: well, my engine stopped several times troughout the race so I had to restart it...
journalist: but the car you drive with is less important than your ability to control it!
(doh - what a useless discussion...)
