It isn't necessary, but keep in mind that the new versions will overwrite your old plug-in .DLL files. If you want to keep them temporarily (to troubleshoot problems, for example), you might want to re-name the original .DLLs in your VST plug-ins folder. That way, if there's a problem, you can un-install the new version (if necessary), and/or just re-name the .DLLs to switch back to the old versions temporarily.

Steve
Or just create a separate folder to install them to and then add the path to your DAW(s). Then you should have both.
That's another good idea.
Thanks

All projects in Cubase loading synths but with init patches rather than as saved. I have a current project with 14 instances of MS-20, Polysix and Wavestation. Only Wavestation loads saved patches :(
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

I have M1 and Wavestation and have no upgrade path but an M1 LE owner does? That’s hilarious.
Play it by ear

The upgrade is free. Just install the new version.

True. To update your plugins just download new installers from your account and install over your existing plugins.

As a separate issue, I do think it's ridiculous that there is no upgrade path to full bundle for people who do have single instruments.

You and c0nan have misunderstood what pheeleep was saying. There is an upgrade path to the full bundle from one of the single instruments; from M1 LE.

After years of waiting for a GUI update and not using the Collection I decided to sell it a few days ago. And here it is - the update.

Too late Korg. :P

When you have everything bundle adding the Triton seems expensive. Hopefully this will be reduced as time passes, it would be fun to have for 'nostalgia' as I used to owned a Triton in the day, but I don't need to add 1 instrument for 150 bucks...The price for all seven instruments including the ARP, M1, Wavestation etc for $299 for 'new users' seems fair however..

Now- lets seem if they do a software version of the Wavestate :D
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Just wanted to report that on High Sierra I get crashes (Wavestation and Monopoly) but on Mojave everything seems smooth.

Don´t expect that one any sooner than 2030!

I'm not holding my breath...Its interesting though, its an all digital synth that could easily be done in a VST. The question (for Korg) is would a VST cannibalise the hardware sales or supplement them? It isn't hardware I would buy, but it is a VST I would consider buying....

I'm totally well aware of that. What I meant was that there is no upgrade path specifically from any other single instrument. Moreover, it would make sense that the upgrade price would be dependent on the amount of single instruments you have. Currently there no such options.

It might to a some extent. But they could have a bit of differentiation in features like Waldorf has in Blofeld and Largo.
