Hi Brian,
When we will have the jd800 in form of plugin?
Thanks

It’s here already as part of Zenology

Post

No, it isn’t here, as part of legendary series.
Legendary series are more accurate in emulation.

Hmm... It seems this will be my last year subscribing Roland Cloud. Our paths seem to point in completely different directions. This isn't the Roland Cloud I subscribed in the beginning, anymore.

That's NOT a JD-800. Stop spreading fake news.

I just want a separate plugin devoted to the JD-800 like some others on here.

A JD-800/990 vst would be great indeed even though I don't think it would be that different from the Zenology JD-800 expansion. What would make it more faithful to the original hardware ?

Hi, newluc! Great question. While I can't divulge unreleased product info, I can say that it's the 30th Anniversary of the JD-800 this year. ;)

It would be awesome to have the DCB version of the JD-800/990 with all JD-specific Vintage Synth Expansion Board patches included.

Here is a comparison video with the real JD-800 and the Zenology model expansion installed in a Jupiter-Xm:

This video shows 128 presets of the model expansion (inside the plugin):

Sounds pretty good to me. Envelope is off on the second patch (Crystal EP) but (as he said) that's probably just a difference of velocity.

Roland, let us use these without constantly having to be online. Just give us a challenge/response and I'll buy many more of these plugins.

Interesting! It pretty much confirms what I was thinking. The difference is really insignificant.

Yes judging based on the videos, the software sounds less vibrating and shimmering. I wonder if it simply lacks of a 3-band-eq setting per preset or so? But sometimes the filter is completely different sounding, and I don't think it's the velocity.
