I put a new song in my music website called "You Look Mighty Fine". It has Hive 2, some non-u-he synths, and plenty of Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like the song and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. The song is at the top of this link:

There's a lot of nice elements, the background piano-like keys add some mystery. The bassline is well crafted, with great tone, and could be a nice extra solo if the guitars held back for a few bars. Thecool percussion doesn't sound canned, seems freshly minted. The depth and duration of the occasional echoes worked well and the backround vocal is at a good level to compliment the main parts. The synth parts at 2:25 are fittingly, pretty gnarly, and switching to a slow warble rather than another expected measure was a nice surprise transition. I really enjoy the synth parts that kick in for the conclusion. The chords and pluck are a good pairing, and the music is cinematic, for lack of a better term. Maybe could be a core for another song down the line? The timing of new parts was excellent, no pointless delays. Maybe the bass under the guitar solo could have some more treble or crunch, without
distracting from the solo? Seems a just little muffled.

Here's a new tune, using Zebra 2, 'When The Smoke Clears', not particularly cheerful,
with many wars, riots, arson attacks, and gunfights etc :(

glokraw,
Thank you for the nicely elaborate review; I appreciate it! Now your song ("When the Smoke Clears"): It's starting out nicely relaxing..........wondering if that's about to change........................................and thankfully no wars or riots erupted during the song! Maybe in other parts of the world, but not in your nice song (with high quality audio). I liked it quite a bit! I will be going to bed before long, and thankful that your song put me in a pleasant relaxing mood. :)

Thanks for listening, and glad it had a positive effect. Part of the mission in my tunes, is to bring peace, or sometimes to stir the pot, using background music that leaves room for the listener to stop and think, or relax and dream.

A good portion of my recreation and employment found me active in the hour before sunrise, generally a very calm and peaceful time of the day, and cool or cold depending on the season. A good time to think things through, maybe make a plan, and keep from racing against the clock. This song made with Zebra 2 reminds me of those hours before circumstances start having their various impacts.

A new song using Zebra2, and there was a lot of fun exploration in the making. In my best 'Mr T' voice, 'Pity the fool that doesn't have Zebra2'.

I put a new song in my music website called "It's Here to Stay". This song has some ZebraHZ thunder and plenty of Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like the song and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor (leave me link if you don't have a recent thread)! Here is my link:

The intro to this is quite fresh and different than your previous release, both set up the songs nicely. The song structure is well presented. The rhythm and lead guitars are balanced well with the gnarly bass, and the thunder works well, and not overdone. The malleted conclusion is also a nice surprise. You have the knack of ending a song with what could begin a new project :hyper:
Hope you've been diving under the waves and keeping track of the sharks and their snacks

glokraw,
Thank you for the song review, I appreciate it! Very recently, I was in Fiji and Tonga for the first time. I went snorkeling in Fiji four times; I would have gone twice more, though high wind cancelled that. I saw a couple of Eagle Rays (~3' wingspan) swimming together, and saw some fish I have never seen in the wild before. Didn't see any sharks on this vacation, though certain areas are famous for big sharks (I am guessing chum is used to attract them). The people in Fiji are unusually friendly. Listened to your song "Catching the Updraft": I like the title because I like flying in aircraft, and I like birds more than most people, and the title has a positive implication. I like that the song was relaxing and had nice synth sounds. Nice recording and nice melodies! :)

One of my daughters spent a week in Tonga, loved the people, and even met the King, who since has passed away. I've worked with some folks from Tonga and Micronesia, really enjoyable people who have a nice community here. Thanks for commenting on the Updraft song...I think we all need the benefits of free/extra energy in our daily quests. You might like this tune, 'Brunch And Snacks At The Reef', but I'd have to sneak in some Zreverb or ColorCopy to say it was U-he related

glokraw,
That underwater photo (looking similar to my recent vacation) lured me into yet another glokraw song. Very sneaky ;). Are the fish in that photo moving, or is it just me? The song definitely went with the photo nicely: nice song! It's not everyday that you hear about kings from Tonga.

I just refreshed my Joss Stone 'Total World Tour' video collection, where she joins locals to sing along with their songs. This one is from a group in Tonga:

There are many more from around the globe, and many from pacific and carribean island nations.
Almost all are acoustic, percussion and sweet singing 8)
