I threw all of the u-he midiassign files out, but the problem still persists.
Maybe I'll just send in a support thing.
Thanks for your help.

I'll install an ancient Diva and see if there's any difference. However, we can't do anything Diva-related until next week...

I just threw out every u-he folder and plugin listed on my machine, re-installed all, re-registered them all.
...and the problem still persists, even in 2 different daws.
I noticed this problem right before I installed the latest version of Diva.
So it did already exist in rev903 (I think it was 903 if I remember correctly)

Is there a place I can dl older versions of Diva?
...although the problem is happening in Zebra as well. The same version where I didn't notice it before with the same preset.

No need.
I found the problem.
It's my fairly new midi controller m-audio-axiom.
I simply used the computer keyboard to play, which resulted in the patch not having the problem, as soon as turned on the axiom, the weird out of tune lfo type problem returned.
Luckily my warranty is still good.
Sorry for the troubles...and thanks for the help.

Maybe a factory reset will help?
Should be an easy process and mentioned somewhere in the manual.
Would definitely be faster than exchanging it. ;)
Cheers

Take a look what it's sending using a midi monitor? Maybe it's an setting on the keyboard or it can be filtered out.

Check to see if your pitch wheel is properly centered. I've seen on cheaper midi keyboards the dead-zone for the pitch wheel was very small and just plaing the keys caused small amounts of positive or negative PB to be sent. A midi logger would be a good place to check.

And who said digital keyboards can't go out of tune?

Thanks for the ideas.
I've actually tried all the reset and other troubleshooting guides from their site.
I'll check the midimonitor app, which I did use before.
The modwheel on axioms are in the stationary down position, and the pitch wheel is also in a spring stationary center.
Customer service for tech repairs didn't answer the phone, after about 30 minutes of waiting.
"A customer representative will be with you shortly"
I'll try again tomorrow.

Just to update.
I fixed the wacky problem with my Axiom controller.
If anyone ever gets this kind of behavior, on mac os, just go into "utilities folder" then to "audio midi setup".
Then just delete the icon for the midi controller there.
Axiom will create a new one on startup.
Problem solved.

EDIT: Actually that didn't fix it for more than a few minutes and the problem returned.
Just sent it in for a replacement. Now I can't do any sounds or music stuff for about 10 days.
Bummer.

Hi all,

I am creating an editor (not a librarian) for my soon to be upgraded P600. So I have decided to learn the editor software by making a template for Diva. Two questions if I may:

1. Maybe I am confused from reading the manual but is it true that out of the box Diva has no default midi mapping (you have to midi learn everything)? To me that sounds strange to anyone wanting to create a controller because now you have to learn everything on your setup and then to anyone using your controller you have to have them take the time to learn the mapping as well. Unless I am wrong I think it would be nice for Diva to have an option in the menu to select either a midilearn setup or use a 'default mapping' setup. This way controller software could be made using a system that works for all uses. Please correct me if I am wrong.

2. I am trying to get Diva to provide:

a) Feedback I can send to the controller to update it's screen. I am using Ableton and have created a extra midi track that brings the midi from Diva and then Sends it to my controller, but it seems that Diva does not send controller information out? How should I address this?

b) It would be nice when a patch change happens that Diva sends out all the midi controllers so that the editor can be auto-updated. At least for the major controls.

Thanks everyone, just a learning process here...

We're sending out parameter automation on preset change and on changes to MIDI learned parameters.

It's correct that we don't offer any out-of-the-box MIDI configuration. That's because many, many DAWs reset MIDI controllers on playback start. Whenever one starts playback in certain hosts, an unfortunate number of parameters would jump to their minimum position.

I used to own an Axiom as well, it died right after guarantee exposure..just stood on my table in the studio. Worst buy ever music related.

My Axiom 61 was flaky from day 1 - it used to flicker on and off at random moments and send MIDI "spikes" through my entire system that were threatening to destroy the motorized faders on my MCU Pro. The day I replaced that M-Audio piece of junk with a Novation controller was the happiest day in a long time, both for me and for my MCU Pro which hasn't been subjected to another sudden fader jerk since that day.

Actually I've had a total of three pieces of M-Audio hardware in my studio in the last few years, in amongst much other hardware. And I've had three hardware components go bad in my studio over that time … you guessed it, the same three from M-Audio. I'll never buy anything from them again.
