Dual supersaws with feedback driving filter to self-oscilation at right moments, through delay...

I've seen that with VST 2 64bit in Ableton Live 9.1ariston wrote:Okay, here's a pretty weird bug:
I save a patch, load it up, and the global transpose is suddenly at -13. I set it to -12, save it again, load it up... again at -13.
Not a bad omen, I hope!
edit: after loading another instance, I can see that it seems to default to -13.
I've seen it load to transpose -13, -15 or -14. The fine knob has sometimes moved.

Does the same thing here - save a patch with global transpose set to -12 and it loads back up at -13.ariston wrote:Okay, here's a pretty weird bug:

Sounds great, though! There's so much new territory to explore here. Looking forward to the new presets which I gather will come with the official release to see what others are doing with the new components.
I couldn't quite dial in the classic "Tom Sawyer" filter growl with the Uhbie filter (it's in the ballpark, but the VCO>filterFM wasn't quite producing the zipper effect as the filter closed with the clearly-articulated smoothness the original sound has, though I expect that without the rest of the OB-X signal path emulated, there are bound to be differences).

The clock is a new concept (well, it's an old concept, but new to u-he stuff). It'll eventually find more uses, such as envelope trigger or LFO source.ezelkow1 wrote:So one suggestion, excuse me if I have overlooked something since its quite possible I have and missed this
Since the clock appears to be a 'module', would there be a way to use this as a mod source? For LFO's for example to be set to retrig on sync/gate/clock? That way you could have the same swing thats applied to the clock also applied to modulations?
It *was* the source of the sequencer module that we pulled from Diva in order to redesign it. It was too ambitious.

Ok, we'll be looking into the transpose offset think... weird. Is that VST2 or VST3 or both?
Also, the noise thing... Clemens will look into it tomorrow

On Mac here, there is no VST version only VST3 with 1.3, same as last 1.21 build, is that correct.Urs wrote:Ok, we'll be looking into the transpose offset think... weird. Is that VST2 or VST3 or both?

Sounds fantastic, well played.
Other than the above mentioned noise osc bug I haven't had any problems with in Sonar x3 vst2 32 bit.
I'm finding I have to boost the highs quite a bit to get the supersaw to sound "normal," I'm guessing this is due to the analog modeled filters tending to darken the sound, or perhaps the original Jp8k had fairly dark sound. A +7db high shelf at 2.5k and -8db cut at 600hz with medium Q sounds pretty much perfect to me.
I honestly don't really use supersaws, there's just some part of me that feels the need to benchmark synths that offer them as a feature. Maybe I've been hanging around kvr too long. :p

Can't say I've ever had experience with the JP80x0 series but the new Osc (as well as the new SEM filter) really adds a ton of versatility to this synth!
Good stuff guys!

HUGE bug: LEDs don't change color on the preliminary graphics.
OS X, AU only - getting some goofy mousewheel response, related to scrolling acceleration in OS X's system preferences/mouse panel. Unfortunately it's such that minimal movements don't even pass through to DIVA. With the VST version one tick of mousewheel still always equals one tick in DIVA - seems like the right way, IMO. (Just found the same thing in Satin, although not Uhbiks - I've noticed the scroll-accel curve inconsistently applied sort of per-application, e.g. in the browser but not in Live).
This feels like it picks up the story right where the original DIVA stopped, moving into *the* chapter for a good deal of EDM IMHO - really awesome update.

Yeah... mouse wheel is f*d. It was an attempt to fulfill a feature request that actually made things worse

Really wonderful additions to Diva. The Digital Osc is a surprising addition but makes Diva a lot more relevant to modern Music and it sounds as good as the best VA out there. Really nice with the OB filter also. I have to admit Im still sad that the dinsoaur Osc of a prophet or OB were not modelled as IMO its still missing a warm poly Oscillator...but maybe it will happen one day...
