8Dio and Spitfire make Kontakt and Kontakt Player libraries, not standalone VI's. Kontakt and Kontakt Player are the VI's, 8Dio and Spitfire libraries work inside of them.

Kontakt's entire purpose is being a Virtual Instrument that play back samples. Your argument appears to be that as soon as even a single sample is loaded into Kontakt, that sample magically becomes a Virtual Instrument in its own right.
Maybe if you even slightly understood how software works, you'd not be so confused.

Sorry, yes it is. 'Library' is specific Kontakt terminology, 'VI' is not. That's why Kontakt has a library browser, not a VI browser.

Same, coming from the fact it has pretty much every known synthesis type, dozens of filters, osc, ADSR types, and it's origin as a sampler with granular capabilities, plus the event processors with all the craziness there.
