You should provide some analog waveforms initially because not everyone wants to search for waves.
I don't like the way that many people handle 'thinness' as a serious weakness factor of Synthmaster. Show me a Jupiter what can do wavesequencing.
Certainly, analog sound isn't a must for a completely digital wavetable synth, it'd just be a neat addition. Synthmaster is a good base to be upgraded for a more analog sound.

OR(!) take an older feature-idea for sm2 from me Bulent
The possibility at the basic osc to choice between digital and analog
Digital - how it now is
Analog - HQ-Wavetable(hidden) from a good analog synth, for example:
Waldorf Pulse
Chroma Polaris
Moog Minimoog
DSI Mopho/Tetra
Moog Taurus
Oscar
MFB Synth
etc

BTW I dont think anyone has realized yet that SynthMaster can produce many of the Yamaha DX7 algorithms. This year we have a tough job of telling to the world what this synth is capable of

I think we've already talked enough about the 'issue'. It's time to finalize the plans and put it on schedule after the OSX release

SM2 is far from Thin!!!
compared to Synth Squad & ACE yes its thinner, but not thin!
i'm sure you could get as thick as said synths, but then SM2 will be another CPU killer!!
IMO SM2's thickness to CPU drain ratio is great
sorry if that dose not help much

Just fire up Vaz 2010 and listen.ghettosynth wrote: Yep, although, I think that you'll be hard pressed to make any VST sound as warm and fat as a good analog.
It's still the king... in my opinion at least

Nowhere did I say, "analog," roland has older digital synths as well. Nothing VA, or Solid State, or "Valve," or whatever tag word of the month, sounds analog to me.ghettosynth wrote:but it does NOT sound like Roland analog hardware to me.

We're gonna review CPU killing presets pretty soon. Unison/additive might be excessively/unnecessarily used for some.Aloysius wrote:CPU is mostly good for me. I just tried a Pad though and it shot up over 90%!It also took an age to load for some reason.

Spammaster 2 is missing some low end, low-mids and mids. This is what make so many soft synth sounds thin. Maybe doing some build in overdrive / compressor in filter could help. Also attack punch is very important. I personally like V-Station unison start phase system. With that you can get very powerful plucks, bass, leads and so on.
And yes, i know that sm2 is great value for 59$. But the answer is still YES. Simple question and simple answer. cya
