GUI resize would be the feature I would remove if I had to... no loss to sound possibilities

I don't think anyone said that they would *want* to lose the XYs, did they?rockmachine wrote:Even though some might not use the XY things, I can't imagine why it would be a feature you would want to lose.
Carefull what you ask for, Zebraman! ninja assassin is always watching! Urs says "Remove a feature" and ZebraMan gets it done!!pdxindy wrote:

Excellent point. That's integral to the fun of Zebra. The way you can dish out proportions of a parameter to X or Y in the XY control panel is what I like. It's simple and straightforward.rockmachine wrote:...Just try using one or the other axis wired to a hardware control output. By assiging one or more parameters to it, you can have huge amounts of timbral control and changes live, and it certainly makes Zebra a great live synth too.
having a compressor inside the synth is handy but in it's current state it's quite useless to me because even some good freeware compressors outperform it.pdxindy wrote:Dr.Gunjah wrote:compressorYou'll touch that compressor over my cold dead hands!!! (unless it is to add to it)
That's probably true, but you can't insert those external compressors into an fx chain inside Zebra. I use the compressor quite often, in between reverb and delay, for example.Dr.Gunjah wrote:having a compressor inside the synth is handy but in it's current state it's quite useless to me because even some good freeware compressors outperform it.
Think inside (sic) the box!Dr.Gunjah wrote:having a compressor inside the synth is handy but...
You may find it useless... For me, it is a valuable sound shaping tool inside the Zebra signal chain... it cannot be replaced by an external compressor.Dr.Gunjah wrote:having a compressor inside the synth is handy but in it's current state it's quite useless to me because even some good freeware compressors outperform it.pdxindy wrote:Dr.Gunjah wrote:compressorYou'll touch that compressor over my cold dead hands!!! The thing about the XY pads is in terms of performance it's hard to use all 4 at once unless you tie them together somehow - I do it using the Kore morphpad - choosing 8 "sweet spots" as snaps to morph between. I have done this with my ZebraCore remix patches (on my site). Just mousing on one XY at a time is not my idea of a particularly musical approach, I prefer to be able to change some or all at once but in different ways. So while I would not want to lose XY's what would be good would be to have an automatable 5th master XY (or XYZ) pad that can be programmed to control the other 4 in the same way as I do in Kore (with maybe the capability to take snapshots to function as vector points between morphs)hakey wrote:I don't think anyone said that they would *want* to lose the XYs, did they?rockmachine wrote:Even though some might not use the XY things, I can't imagine why it would be a feature you would want to lose.
well it's all personal preference... I don't need this compressor while you seem to use it much.pdxindy wrote:You may find it useless...
