If you use MCompare and other melda plugins, it probably won't do you much good. It's really mostly if you use other dev's plugins, which do not have AGC (as far as I know there no plugins with true AGC actually
).

Here I go again with MAGC.
I would like my signal to remain around, say, -18dbfs, from the input and after every plugin.
I think MAGC could help me do this if I could reference it to -18dbfs. I would copy the MAGC level adjustment to the output level of my plugins. (Yes, I am being a bit lazy and obsessive.
)
a) would it be possible for MAGC to have such an internal reference?, or
b) if I instead create a signal track at -18dbfs specifically to feed the sidechain of MAGC, should this be pink noise, white noise, or what?

PLEASE delete my post. I misunderstood how MAGC worked, so my post makes no sense. I thought it not only had the AGC function, but also the SET, which I usually prefer.

I own, and use, MAutoVolume!
However, I must confess I don't know very well how to control it. I just slap it onto vocal or bass tracks, when needed. But when I fiddle with its controls, it doesn't react as I would expect.
I will study it more closely.
Anyway, I f I understand correctly, it aims at a fixed -16dbfs, right?

Well, usually just speed and range will be the things to use
.
Anyways I don't really remember the exact value, but it could be something like -16lufs indeed.
