The sound of STM is far superior to any Reaktor ensemble for these specific styles... no debate.

Absolute nonsense.

Maybe for you ..... for me and for what I do it's absolutely true.
I have a few well supported techno bangers out strictly made with Softube Modular.

Would never be able to pull that off with just Reaktor 6.

I probably would, but with 100x more effort in mixing and processing and probably
still not be able to come close to what I would achieve with Softube in an hour.

I have and use Reaktor, Modular and VCV.

I like all of them. Modular is the more expensive of the pack, a cpu hog and its interface is not the best, but I will keep it and get more modules in the future. It really sounds amazing and different to anything else in vst land as far as I know.

After spending half the night virtual knob twiddling with a silly grin on my face this is a must buy now for me. Massively expands the range of timbres that Modular can produce. Chapeau Softube :tu:

Hell yeah to that! f**king wicked sounding stuff straight out of the synth with no effects or post processing, I really can't think of any other Vst that does that...

I have Modular, Blocks and VCV. I use all of them and I love all them. Each has its own character.

Buchla is very cool addition to Modular. I presume it will be half price on Black Friday sale and adding standard JRR discount to that will probably result in 40-45usd so its not that bad (especially if you see the price of the hardware which is supposed to be modelled faithfully with this module).

Unfortunately I have no recollection of Softube doing Modular + modules at half price on Black Friday. Can anybody confirm or deny?

[Might be early for 50% off on this one anyway.]

Post

Afair they had 50% sale twice during last summer and if remember this included Modular + modules.

Thanks. Must have missed that.

they often offer up to 50%, so it could be also $65 on black friday / winter / holiday sale.
I don't think they offer 50% on new releases, but it's possible.....

These modules are obviously carefully created and not rushed, which is what like.
This allows you to actually grow with the system and modules and master them, so every time a new module is released you understand the real impact on your sound.

Reaktor is a huge messy library of user created modules that all look, behave and sound the same.
The sound of STM is far superior to any Reaktor ensemble for these specific styles... no debate.
oh go on, then, oh enlightened one, do spill the beans on what these blessed 'styles' are, explain which rarified sub-sub-sub-genres seemingly exist on emulations of such a tinily specific palette of Eurorack modules...

It is becoming "Which opinion is better.." thread.
Reaktor and Modular are great in their own way! Just accept it! :dog:

Modular has some good things, but until they finish it (namely with a proper patch management), it's a no go for me. And I will not spend a single cent more on something that's still unfinished more than one year after its launch.

But what if I have the wrong stuff for my specific styles?

Jeez, do you not realise what the stakes are here?

Should I buy all the modular plugins, just to be sure? Or maybe some hardware modulars?

f**k man, this is serious.
