I did a quick summing test with 12 stems exported from a mix, consisting of instrument/ vocal tracks as well as effect tracks. Straight summing test, no processing applied, not even touching pan knobs or volume faders at all.

No sample rate conversion, no stretching, no dither, all exported at 24bit. Not a big surprise, but a the result of a null test is silence. Actually, I'm quite sure Audacity, which I used for the null test, applied triangular dither as to my default settings, so there may be a hint of that in the "Null test".

right , but we not talking about null testing ready prepared tracks..(i made similar test and finally there was a null like in yours test) there is something wrong with summing, audio procesing.. (how ever you call it) when you 'mixing' with heavy plugins use,with a build in sampler..
i started this topic as a '64bit audio engine feature' but im not dsp audio coder so maybe those differents between major daws and bitwig (when you mixing) is a bug and not benefit of 64bits engine... who knows.
But thats have to be fix.

ohhh... for me that can be a 8bits engine ... but would like to be sure there is no more bugs which we found by testing.

some of guys use it to a fun ... to make a youtube videos (how it play a whole song when you push one button).. some use a tablet speakers or iphone headphones.. for this kind of job is good enough.
but other use it to producing and mixing a various kind of music, sometimes get paid for that and there is no space to explain: 'sorry a string sound doesnt play high freq because a bitwig sampler rolling down freq too early :lol: '

The pros you mention simply don't use the Bitwig sampler, they use Halion or Falcon or Kontakt...
And this has absolutely nothing to do wether the audio engine is 32, 64 or 512-bit...

Okay, let me re-phrase your feature request:
you have some kind of issues, which you cannot properly describe and which may or may not be connected with the fact that Bitwig isn't using 64bit floating audio engine, right?
And you insist that Bitwig devs should spend their resources on 64bit floating audio engine?

Sounds constructive.

I'm closing this topic as the question has already been answered and the OP is going off on tangents. Unless someone knows what a 32-bit float number actually is and what numerical ranges it can represent, they can't really bring anything useful to this subject.
