I don't think it works that way. There are plugins that work for me that don't work for others. There are plugins that work for others that don't work for me. There are plugins where the VST 2 version works fine and the VST3 version does not. There are plugins that work in FL Studio but not in Waveform or StudioOne.GearNostalgia wrote: Thu May 07, 2020 3:44 am Is there a list of plugins that are reliable or unstabile in the most current version? Some are dealbreakers for me other not.
I have been using Kontakt with Waveform since way back before it was called Waveform. I also have Guitar Rig and Massive but use them less frequently. No problems lately. Kontakt used to be flaky a long time ago. I can't even remember when. Maybe Tracktion 4 or 5?
What I do have problems with is a VST called Tines. It kills Waveform, among other DAWs. The developer updated it for me and that worked. For about 4 hours, then it went back to crashing. Someone at TSC suggested it might be conflicting with my antivirus so I configured my antivirus to ignore it. That worked! For about 4 days, then it went back to crashing. My friend also has it and he has experienced exactly zero problems.
Software is complicated. For every universally problematic plugin there are dozens that only cause trouble on one or two computers. Waveform and PluginX are not working together in a vacuum.
I will say this, though: Waveform 11 has been the most enjoyable music-making experience I've had in a very, very long time. It's more stable (for me) and powerful than anything I've used before.
