Engine mix-and-match hasn't been part of this update.surreal wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:41 am Hi Urs awesome update.. are the differant filter types still tied to the engine types or can we now use any filter with any engine!?

+1 The graphs are already small, and now they are obstructed by this knob too...there has to be another way to do this.Sound Author wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:06 am I don't like the "Pos" knob in the WT window. Nice idea but it's an eyesore imo.

So far each feature update has been accompanied with hundreds of example presets. This update will be no different, but we are in its first beta stage. Due to the Mac UI performance test, migration to ARM and the IZMO theme we are expecting a longer beta phase with at least two stages, if not more. Plenty of time for us to add example presetsFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 2:04 amApparently there were going to be some presets from an, as of today, still unreleased film. But that portion of the project has been delayed due to Covid, as films aren't really being released or are wildly delayed, so we got a version without the movie presets.muki wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 1:55 am ...and:
are there any presets highlighting the new features ?
showing whats possible; all those news bells and whistles...
looking in the presetbrowser, but can't find anything specific....or any tags...
Still, wouldn't mind some new ones to show off whatever a reverb filter is and the like.![]()
The presets we made for that project-we-still-can't-talk-about will not be included in the factory library. We'll release them separately once the project is published. We're still close to the production team and yes, Covid has been a great challenge to its progress.

Ok no problem extra filters are always welcome.. with which engines will they be working with? Which update are you planning to allow us to mix and match or will that be for Hive 3.. the next gen... to be continued. .. lol.. anyway thank for the update Urs!

The new filter types work in every engine. In each engine their feedback limiting/distortion was tweaked to fit the engine's character.

Cool thank you Urs, in which ipdate are you gonna loosen the chains that we can mix and match filter-engine types or is that a massive task?Urs wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:04 am The new filter types work in every engine. I'm not sure if this is a feature or not intended:
The context menu via right-click doesn't allow me to select zoom levels > 90%. Whereas the default skin size lets me choose anything (and that works as well). In 2.0.1, I could select always all zoom levels. However, my screen is too small to fit 100% completely.

It's a feature. The context menu will let you choose all the sizes that fit into your current display. If a size would make Hive bigger than your display, then it's greyed out.
You can override this by holding the Shift key when right-clicking to display the GUI size menu.
The preferences section will allow you to set all sizes as default.

100% behind this. Hive is (inter) modulation heaven and it's very easy to run out of slots, even for relatively simple patches where you have Ctrl A or Modwheel simultaneously increasing/decreasing mod depths of various assignments, for expressive/morphing sounds etc.pdxindy wrote: Thu Jan 21, 2021 10:26 pm I'm curious what others think about something.
I frequently run out of mod slots in the Matrix in Hive... So I am advocating for Matrix C to be added in 2.1

I can't say. It simply hasn't made it into this update. The feature isn't as trivial as it may seem.surreal wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:10 amCool thank you Urs, in which ipdate are you gonna loosen the chains that we can mix and match filter-engine types or is that a massive task?Urs wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:04 am The new filter types work in every engine. +1 If has to stay it would probably benefit from being in the same color as the thin grey lines in the background so the wavetable is the dominant visual element.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 3:33 amYeah, I'm not really feeling that one either. Not from an aesthetic perspective.Sound Author wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:06 am I don't like the "Pos" knob in the WT window. Nice idea but it's an eyesore imo.
This feature of changing the WT position appears to be the same as before (v2.0.0 I missed the 2.0.1) so if that's the case it's only a visual change, or am I missing something? I really don't see the need for the cluttering, any changes are shown WT waveform display in itself and in the value display window. That's 2 visual user feedback parameters...but that's me and only use a mouse sooo...
...I assume the purpose is to have a visual indicator where about in the WT file you currently are positioned without the need to move your mouse cursor to the area or move a external controller knob to see the value, I guess it's something users in a live situation would appreciate and so on.
If that's the case, I would rather see a slider (same as the circle but rectangular) at the bottom where the POS text is. There's no real need to have POS text there, it will be self evident what the slider/box represent. However, it will create an logical conflict with having the visual WT position represented in horizontal while editing it is done vertical hen using a mouse (but that's not as big of an issue as the clutter we have now IMO)

here we go, apple M1 13" pro, 16GB RAM.
Normal interface of Hive 2.1 is useful, lag is worse than it was on native intel i7.
Izmo is useless however, it lags so bad i can't use it
edit:
repro and diva seem to work smoother than Hive on my M1.
edit2:
also Zebra, Bazille.
actually only Hive lags on M1. will try with other plugmon skins on other plugs

I kindof wish Objects had been made after this release - to take advantage of the comb filter would take it to another level imho (maybe an update would be on the cards?)
