When I was 18 and crashing on a friend's couch, he had an old school tape player. Somehow, you could input an electric guitar, in this case, an acoustic with a pup. Oh, man. That thing was mindblowing. I remember tripping, doing my Hendrix 'Star Spangled Banner.' With feedback and the whole shebang. On an acoustic with a passive pup! The overdrive was amazing, and so was the feedback. One of the guys there left in the middle of my rendition, and came back about 15 minutes later all freaked out: There's tombstones! The football field is a cemetary! Meanwhile, I was still making the guitar wail and he continued to stare wild-eyed, with pupils the size of smarties, lol.Hink wrote: Thu Aug 26, 2021 12:15 am I remember I had this Alamo El Dorado electric guitar with strings so high my mom used it as a cloths line and an old tube amp taken from a ham radio with an 8" speaker in an old crate...I couldn't figure out how to get the hard sound. Then one day I took my radioshack 8-track cartridge recorder up to my parents stereo to plug my guitar into it (one of those 60's console jobs, tubes, loud as hell)...I pinged the vu's...and discovered what I called then the hendrix sound![]()

Well, it is correct to say "the Beatles' original drummer and bassist are no longer with us"...Pete Best drummed until Ringo came along, Stu Sutcliffe played bass while Paul McCartney was on guitar in the early days.
RIP Charlie Watts!

I think this tour will be their last hurrah. I can't see them carrying on without him. There'd be a big huge hole anytime they got together. Time waits for no one, no favours has he…
