Totally wrong. i'm accusing the hoax posters of arrogance. if youd like to demonstrate how that's not the case i'm all ears.If we divide the forum up into basically three groups, those who don't mind the occassional silly periods on the forum, those who do mind, and post objects to it, and those who do mind and don't want any part of it. You sit in that center group and accuse others of arrogance.
yes thats right, sometimes i do. But i need to open a thread to see that its a hoax. Anyway, I find it interesting in itself that people here find it ok to make hoax posts when most people dont appreciate them.Once you have worked out that there is nothing in a thread to interest you, you can just ignore it, no matter how long it gets.
Oh come on valley, I always took you for a little brighter that that. you've missed the point by a mile. Hoax posters are DELIBERATELY midleading people.I have little or no interest in mac threads, 'cos there is typically no useful help I can give, and nothing much useful I'm going to learn. I don't go around demanding that the mac users prefix their posts with [mac] or whatever, I just read the first post, think "OK," and ignore it from there onwards.
yeah, me too. ridiculous.I noticed a few regulars I admire have joined in this hoax thingie as if they're fighting against oppresion/conservatives
Ermm, that's what I said.cbit wrote:Totally wrong. i'm accusing the hoax posters of arrogance. if youd like to demonstrate how that's not the case i'm all ears.If we divide the forum up into basically three groups, those who don't mind the occassional silly periods on the forum, those who do mind, and post objects to it, and those who do mind and don't want any part of it. I agree, the hoax thing is getting out of hand. A couple of threads of silliness is fine if that gives people some reason to check by the forum. So many junk threads that legitimate stuff gets missed is bad though. You wont find me arguing that.yes thats right, sometimes i do. But i need to open a thread to see that its a hoax. I'm not saying they are the same thing, I'm saying the response by anyone who understands anything about online forums should be the same: click to the next thread and subsequently ignore the uninteresting thread.Oh come on valley, I always took you for a little brighter that that. you've missed the point by a mile. Hoax posters are DELIBERATELY midleading people.
Since I made the humor comment, I'd like to clarify... This forum has always felt like a group of friends that use tracktion as opposed to a flat out all business corporate forum. This place has always been very personal, humorous, and offbeat. The very first two hoaxes were pretty funny imo.. beyond that.. whateverbewing77 wrote:A forum with a sense of humor? That was probably the most humorous statement I have seen on this board so far. If your idea of humor is spamming the board with crap and pictures of groundhogs then you should consider watching some WWI documentary on discovery, since that is much more humorous. It was a little funny the first time, and maybe the second, but now it's just getting plain rediculous. Sure, you have every right to make theese posts given by freedom of speech, but you'll have to ask yourselves what you want this forum to be: A place for serious discussions about Tracktion (well, RawMaterial software, but honsestly, what other software of Jules' is discussed?) or a personal playing ground for "dedicated users"? In effect some of you have already answered this by telling people to put up with it or get out.
apologies, i read a 'the' in there where there wasn't oneIf we divide the forum up into basically three groups, those who don't mind the occassional silly periods on the forum, those who do mind, and post objects to it, and those who do mind and don't want any part of it. I find it a bit strange to equate not having an opinion either way with innocence.. by this you imply that by vocally opposing something going on in the forum you are 'guilty'.you put the only entirely innoccent party to yet more inconvenience
Have you not been paying attention to RonC?cbit wrote:"don't feed the troll." yes, that seems wise.. but i hoped that this forum wasn't filled with trolls. next time i'll think twice.
That's a very valid point of course.but i understand that people don't want to complain about the hoaxes inside the hoax threads, because it pushes them to the top of the forum again (although ive done this myself).
