While I see your point I'd like to add that companies are comprised of many individuals who often disagree on ideas or roadmaps. It could also be that the executives didn't like the idea while one or more of the techies did. I've seen quite a few companies where the engineering team is fantastic and are often at odds with upper management. It could be that with this buyout the people at the top aren't at the top anymore.chk071 wrote:Again, i can only ask which users Propellerhead should listen to. The ones who think it's a great idea, or the ones who consider it a bad idea? Obviously, they have the plans for VST support in the drawer now for many, many years. And didn't consider it a great idea, until the new investor picked things up. So, it's most likely they didn't "listen to the users", but to the investor.
Politics aside, I'm just happy that VSTs are coming to Reason. It's convinced me upgrade for the first time in 4 years. I'm excited about using Zebra, Omnisphere, Diva, and uTonic in the rack, routing it through reason devices and out to Valhalla reverbs. This is something I've wanted to do ever since I discovered computer production tools.
