But like others, wish the sound engine was a bit more sophisticated and higher quality.
I think the lack of sophistication is mainly just a power/time issue.

In the Cuckoo video with Magnus he explained that the synth was basically built ten years ago but it took about a day for the solver to run through a patch. It was a technology waiting for the right combination of power and complexity.

I've noticed, for example a 1 second sample takes about 3 minutes to fully run through all the branches. The full 2 second sample takes a about twice as long.

A lot depends on the source material but there is obviously a trade off between usability and complexity.

Any additions to the synth itself would add exponential complexity to it and make it more or less impractical.

With respect, I don't think that is entirely true. I think it's innovative and a brilliant set of ideas, but its full potential has yet to be realized. Maybe there are plans in future for an upgrade to the sound engine and an upgrade to Genopatch. We will see.

Really? I have the opposite problem (in that it's not really a problem). 😜

In fact, I find it much more difficult making Synplant conjure something which I regard as being 'unusable', than to the contrary.

And tbh, I can't really think of an example yet, wherein a minor tug on a seed branch here, or a tweak of a DNA parameter there, hasn't managed to mitigate any perhaps 'unwanted' issue.

However, it probably depends largely upon the type of music each user prefers to make and sounds they like to hear.

For example, I was never overly fond of Serum (blasphemy, I know!) and the sounds it generates, preferring other alternatives over, what for many people, was/remains their "go to" synth.

I suppose, it's true that "one man's meat is another man's poison".

So, to each their own. 👍

A concerted and collaborative international effort to reduce CFCs.

One of the best examples in history of how collective efforts with purpose can achieve results.
Amazing they didn't tell anyone about it. Good to know. Thanks.

That seems plausible. I'll stick with it.

Or a huge hoax, from problem to resolution (thesis, antithesis, synthesis) :ud:

But, I digress...

Serum is great, but with the alternatives (Phaseplant, Vital, etc.) it's hard for me to buy it at such a high price and its age, although I'll probably snap up Serum 2. Synplant 2 is also great, but could be greater.

Phase Plant = 'Order out of Chaos' ('Something from Nothing').

Synplant* = 'Chaos from Order' ('Organized Chaos').

*Synplant 2 + Genopatch

Synplant 2 + Genopatch = "Chaos is a ladder"

Or actual science.

You don't "make up" a hole in the Ozone layer, FFS.

How about Cause, effect and resolution.

Why is everything a f**king conspiracy nowadays?

Jesus Christ.

He was dispossessed of his repertoire by a französische usurper, it is high time to restore his image.
You are such a silly, silly Glotzkopf.

If you have an hunch that the rather near-term trend for synth developers is to add this kind of processing capability and you have no intention of developing a whole new synth that can compete with what they currently have as far as brute synthesis power but want to leverage your own limited 2-oscillator FM synth, I'd say it's indeed best to be early on the bandwagon and benefit from it. It won't be directly possible when the others will be showing up. Only indirect licensing will be possible. That is, if they're interested.
