RC-20 GUI is resizable, wow. Looks like they added this in a recent update. Makes it an even better deal.

No sorry, I so a generic code which could be applied to “some products” somewhere, thought it was on their site.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 11:29 amDo you mean RC-20? Don't think it is PB exclusive, so I am also waiting to see if it comes up at JRR Shop, AudioDeluxe or Best Service.SHall1000 wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:25 am Thought I saw any additional discount code on the Audiodeluxe site but can’t find it now. Any ideas. Thanks

Does it still hold up well against more recent competitors like Waves Retro-Fi and Unfiltered Audio LoFi A-F, particularly for the less common types of saturation (in other words not counting tube, transistor, or non-VHS tape)? Particularly the vinyl saturation + noise?maldomusica wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 6:08 am XLN Audio RC-20 for $19!! What a deal![]()

I think it's the best price I've ever seen.
Hmm, I've passed on Retro-Fi and Lofi A-F so far because I didn't really care for their vinyl; the vinyl demo on RC-20's product page sounds possibly even less appealing (to me).

I’ve had RC-20 for a while and found much like with SketchCassette II and Waves Abbey Road Vinyl that I prefer it used at low levels, maybe 20%, wet with the noise dialled down. I find high levels of mix it gets way too nasty and fake sounding, but YMMV and maybe that’s what you want on just drums, but I like it to warm up a whole master bus.

The cpu hit on RC-20 Is quite high too, so cant just drop it on every channel.. good used as a send fx and sprinkled on tracks to give everything a bit of vibe.

Can anyone confirm that this RC-20 deal purchased through Plugin Boutique is registered through XLN Audio's site, and thus subject to their resale policy, or is it NFR? Some vendors (Wavesfactory, Audio Damage) treat licenses differently depending on whether sold directly or via PB. I'd like the comfort to know, if after an extended "demo", that I can resell if it doesn't jibe with me.

I registered the serial provided by Plugin Boutique at the XLN site. No issues and standard license.kidslow wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:03 pm Can anyone confirm that this RC-20 deal purchased through Plugin Boutique is registered through XLN Audio's site, and thus subject to their resale policy, or is it NFR? I hate it when a plugin is offered cheaper than I bought it.
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

IK sent out an email saying X-Drive is free for all Amplitube CS (free version) users until the 25th; instructions say to go to User Area and there will be a pop-up with the offer. Tried multiple browsers, no pop up. I definitely have Amplitube CS registered to my account.
So annoying. I haven't liked most of their products much to begin with, and nonsense like this makes me really hate the company for allowing for such incompetent and irritating behavior to keep going on.

Can you elaborate? I bought a lot at Plugin Boutique, and all the licenses/activations worked the same as if you bought it anywhere else.kidslow wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:03 pm Can anyone confirm that this RC-20 deal purchased through Plugin Boutique is registered through XLN Audio's site, and thus subject to their resale policy, or is it NFR? It took me a few tries; it seemed like their website was being hit hard. Maybe try a couple times per day, and hopefully during off-hours you'll get in.Ou_Tis wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:48 pm IK sent out an email saying X-Drive is free for all Amplitube CS (free version) users until the 25th; instructions say to go to User Area and there will be a pop-up with the offer. Perhaps you've noticed that there are two methods by which a license is delivered when you make a purchase at Plugin Boutique. First is a code that you then take to a vendor's site and register the plugin with the vendor directly. Second is a license that gets entered into the plugin and never registered with the vendor. The latter method is used by Wavesfactory and Audio Damage, and others. Those are the two I have firsthand knowledge about.chk071 wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:48 pmCan you elaborate? It has been explicitly stated by Wavesfactory that they will not allow transfers for licenses purchased through PB. I am not sure if AD has explicitly stated this, but it seems to be implicit.

Most of the plugins I bought at them had a simple activation code you could use to activate, or get a serial at the developer of the plugin. Usually through the activation software, iZotope Portal e.g. Also got a serial number for activation of an Eventide Audio plugin through my Eventide account, and a serial I could activate Kirnu Cream with (I think directly in the plugin).
Dunno about resale of Kirnu Cream, but, the others are surely resellable.
I would contact Plugin Boutique about it, and ask them. Their support has been very responsive when I contacted them (think I did two times).

You may be surprised when you go to resell plugins purchased at PB if they were never registered with the vendor, regardless of what their transfer policy is. I just did not want to be surprised if I purchased RC-20, despite XLN's very fair transfer policy.
Why am I going to contact Plugin Boutique? There is no ambiguity. Wavesfactory has made it clear what their policy is. If you're curious, there is more in the resale thread about it. I was a bit wrong about Audio Damage, as I don't think there is even a registration code. So to amend my previous statement, there are three methods used with purchases via PB: code to register on vendor's site, serial to enter in the plugin, no serial at all.
