This is exactly why I hate Roland and their stupid trigger for pitch and mod. Works well as a pitchbend but is a terrible modwheel. I'll have to edit the patch to work around my stupid controller.

Anyone else think RePro-5 can already get those creamier Rev. 2 and T-8 sounds already for some reason ?

I can't say that yet. The filter maybe, the VCOs and envelopes certainly not.

I feel uncomfortable dissecting a P-5 Rev2 while SSM 2040 are too rare to replace. There are hopes for new batches of these chips, but I'm not gonna kill off a 7k collector synth for this feature.

(I bought a Crumar Trilogy and stuff, we have CEM 3320 in abundance)

I just found that i have to use the "red arrow" left to the Modwheel to keep the modulation amount saved with the patch.

The Modwheel itself seems to be global and is not saved with the host project.

UPDATE:
I updated my patch posted at the previous page with the "red arrow" at the Modwheel set to the right mod amount which is then saved with the patch.

I guess it can get in the ballpark, but really that SSM filter is quite different.

Some examples from actual rev2 and rev3 (not 1:1 comparisons): http://www.babic.com/SYN/p5r2.htm

You can clearly hear the difference in how filter behaves even though they're not the same sounds.

That "touch of reverb" on these examples disqualifies them for our purposes.

My patch 'HelloCello", absolutely no post processing, except Soundcloud's sphincter-like compression codec.

Not really, since it's the same preset on all of them. You can still hear the difference in the filter, even through the reverb.

That indeed is a beautiful filter

Hi guys, I asked two questions about five pages back that seem to have been ignored / overlooked / lost in the thread, could somebody chime in on these points, or is there somewhere else I should be asking such things? Thanks!

1. Is it expected behavior that activating Velvet results in a noticeable gain boost, even if mode = default and Input Knob = 0 ? Not an issue if so, obviously I can offset with output or Sonic Conditioner, I just wanted to make sure this was the intended behavior of the device.

2. When using multiple voices and playing various keys, I've been watching the Voice Panners on the tweaks page. *Most* of the time, the voices progress by 1 to the right with each successive note press. However, sometimes after I've played for a while and then look at it again, they appear to be jumping around instead --not at random, necessarily, but just no longer in the left-to-right, 1 step movement as before. For instance today I somehow got to a point where all playing would reach the end and then jump to Voice 4, then to 1, progressing toward 4 again, then somewhere closer to the end, and then after 8 jump back to 4..... I couldn't figure out what I'd done to "break" the previous simple left to right voice Progression. There's probably something about Voicing I'm just not understanding here, but I'd like to have a better grasp of it, if an explanation is available....

In future the plug-in will load with one of the presets selected. A boost si always possible at 0dB gain, depending on the various settings within the preset itself (it's basically a full blown Satin studio mode preset).

Once you have overlapping notes, the order of voices might change.

As suggested by some other posts in this thread, I've been comparing performance (non-scientifically, mind you) of RePro-5 between Ableton Live 10 and Bitwig Studio 2 -- for me, for whatever reason, it's MUCH better in Bitwig, which seems to echo some other users here. I'm on a 2016 i7 iMac, fwiw.

In Bitwig 2 I can generally run about 5 or 6 instances of RePro-5 with CPU usage heavy, but bearable -- no dropouts, no overloads, etc. In Live 10 (beta), this same number causes major CPU overloads.

Interestingly, In Live 10, turning MC on makes the CPU go up. Conversely, turning MC on in Bitwig makes the CPU go down. Basically as long as I turn MC on, I can get a lot of mileage out of RePro-5 in bitwig studio.

I've been sailing on the good ship Bitwig lately anyway, so this works out conveniently for me :)

Hi everyone.

I feel stupid after reading 35 pages of how great the repro 5 beta sounds. I have been trying to get it running on my linux laptop for a couple of days without any luck. Both Ardour and Carla refuses to accept the vst and I have no ideas how to get it going.

I am using KXStudio 64-bit (Ubuntu 14.04 from falktx)

Note that I have been and still is running:
Presswerk, Satin, Zebra2, ZebraHZ, Hive, Diva and lots of other plugins, Even Repro-1 is working great unless I install the latest Repro-1/5 beta..

I am glad it sounds totally awesome, it seems reading all positive comments..

/Anders

Thank you, Walter. Can you do the same for SyncII?
I can, later this week. But it seems that Ingo is working on creating a R-5 version of all patches, don't?

Is it possible to remove the stepping that occurs when controlling the filter cut-off with a MIDI CC? I know you have fine adjustments as a separate parameter, but I was hoping to achieve a smoother full range response. Would I need a 14bit controller? Or could a Max device or Pure Data convert regular 7-bit MIDI into something with more steps? Im also open to using OSC. Thank you for you time in helping me find a solution.
