That's a lot of assumptions.

I thought the sales for upgrades were in the Summer.
That was certainly true in the past, but the company structure was changed over the summer: iZotope, Brainworx, and Plugin Alliance are now all part of NI.

To my mind, that means all bets are off (when it comes to past marketing strategies). So I'm asking in case someone here has the inside scoop....

But that's what I've been saying...

They didn't do that, they made it a generic code that required paying $2.

Try reading my whole post and thinking about it for a second before responding. Do I really have to explain it to you again?

2023 - where folks argue the toss between free and $2

Post

They never imagined that people would share a generic code!

They want both: They want the honest $2 customers and also they want the hideously corrupt $0 customers.

No, you don't.

But I disagree, as making assumptions goes both ways. I would assume that the actual volume of virtuous people who knew that they could have it for free but still chose to pay, that Loopcloud would attract, is fairly negligible to hitting sales targets.

I would also assume it's just as likely to piss people off and lose custom, by making it a generic code and cost (even $2), as there are just as many non-virtuous people out there who would be annoyed that they have just realised they could have gotten it for free and not had to sign up for Loopcloud as well as Plugin Boutique.

Two days of arguing about two dollars. Keeping it real, KVR style.

I feel sorry for people who can't afford software. They are still subject to the powerful intentions of powerful corporations and software developers' vast never-ending marketing. "BUY BUY BUY"

What goes around comes around works both ways.

It's like the poor alcoholics, there are pubs and off licence everywhere they look, it is very difficult to escape from it.

... and their corporate analytics almost certainly show that you're wrong.

Most people aren't you, Choikdoi.

This latest KVR spat has made me completely forget the last one that ended with a deleted thread. :clown:

What if someone paid the two dollars and then wished they waited for the freebie?
Might they get a downgrade to 'considerably corrupt'?

They should be careful what they wish for or they might get a free Ozone 11 eq!

I followed the same path 11 months ago and got a year of WUP for the whole thing (which is about to expire, which is also fine with me).
Next one is Mercury at about $250-$300-$500 depending on the month. I'm not going there, if you ask me.
