That was TAL-Drum and the Jupiter emulation. I remember TAL-Sampler being pretty cheap during Black Friday though, especially if you bought it in a bundle with TAL-Drum. But 8 months is a long time to wait...

Uncle E, are you gonna carry Ujam's crossgrade promotion?

Could someone help me out? I wrote about this yesterday here, so wondering about this.

I've been very unhappy with the fact that I don't get the "first purchase discount" because of the freebies in my UA account.

The first purchase discount is really important to me. I wrote to their support, but to no avail. Two days without a single word.

etc
I received a bundle of about 7 UA plugins with a very cheap USB interface.
They show as being NFR in my iLok account but that could be because they were registered less than 90 days ago.
So check with your iLok account to see if they are NFR.

My question is: can I sell (give away) my freebies by sending them to someone else's iLok account and then delete my UA account, register a new one, buy a bundle with the discount and put my own iLok account with no UA licenses on there? Would they know/care about that?
You might be better off asking Pace (ilok) customer service whether there is any way a plugin mfr (UAD in this case) can see any evidence of previous registrations (that are now gone/deleted) on your ilok account.

Worse case, couldn't you make a new ilok account, and a new UAD account, then after all is purchased and registered, transfer from your new ilok to your old one (will cost $50 probably)? I guess you'd have to have a spare PC to put the temporary new ilok account on.

Way too much hassle to worry about. Everybody already has those freebies, anyway.

30-40$ is a big difference for me, personally, but I agree with you 100%.

To add to this story: I created a new UA account and there's no first purchase discount either...I really have nothing else to say.

Frustrated, that's all.

UAD don't allow regular transfers at all, only linking a new iLok to an account, no fees.

While you can't transfer the licenses in the usual way you're supposed to do in the iLok License Manager, you could transfer (without paying any fees!) the whole account's licenses onto another account, which isn't linked to any UAD account. This is a one-off thing of course, because you can only do it two times afaik (or one, not sure about that), but it seems this would be entirely possible.

Now, this would only rely on the presumption that UAD don't track the unlinked accounts. Who knows if there's a roadblock like "this account used to be linked to a UAD account", and yet if that's the case that would also defy the whole point, because who are they to assume that I didn't originally forget the iLok's password and lost access to the email on which it was registered and now after remembering it, I want to use it for UA licenses.

A lot of hypotheticals going on here, but if this worked, this would be big. I have to admit I'm a bit crazy about this, because I really want to buy either the Studio or Signature bundles, but without the first purchase discount it would be too expensive for me right now. All of this just because their support doesn't answer me...
Don't demonize them, they def don't give an F about chasing someone's former or secondary accounts. And UAD may not respond quickly by mail, but the solutions are usually in your favor: Perhaps they will provide a coupon to compensate for the 20% price difference. Or you could ask at uadforum.com; officials usually respond faster there, and other veterans may be able to help too. Ultimately, maybe just wait for a better sale, cause they are always around the corner with UAD these days.

UA's coupon system is notorious. Best to just wait for their support to get back to you. Or simply move on.
