And this is a fine example of "not cold". I wouldn't question this if somebody said it was a snippet of early Human League.
Thank you. That was a nice compliment!

By the way - is there going to be a thread started for members to recreate these 'demo's as actual Patches for us to download?
Thanks

Did you get my three e-mails from last night about me being charged twice for ACE? Share It have screwed-up big time. If you've got a spare min could you please drop me an e-mail.

Hi Urs,

I downloaded and tried ACE beta and I was quite amazed by the sound quality, I noticed a very strong timbric foundation, one of the virtual synths having very hardware like sonic feel (and believe me I tried many VSTs).

I also found a very strange thing, sorry if this was already reported: while browsing patches, sometimes clicking on one patch I saw the patch disappear from the list, and found later that it was moved elsewhere in the patch tree (mostly up one or two levels).

This happened with many patches in different locations in the patch tree.

Is it a known issue?

Thanks again,
Mario

P.S. Kudos for the new installer philosophy as well (ability to choose different paths for dll and plugin data)

Great! I mean GREAT! wow

Hey how about the fx version? I'd like to be able to use it on sampled sources aswell!!!

OK, Urs:

I put ACE through it's paces today; my platform is a Q6600 non-O/C (2.4ghz/core) under the control of Vista 6002 (beta/final?); Audio is RME w/current drivers (hdsp/multiface).

Using Medium poly (8-voice) with the RT render setting @ 'accurate', the CPU load did not exceed 60% w/any of the patches used (probably about 2 dozen).

What I would like to be able to do, is hard-set my poly @ 12-voices, so that I can unison 2 voices @ 6 note poly....with a assumed CPU load <=90%.

Q: At some point in ACE's initial developement cycle, are you planning on implementing a 'hard' polyphony voicing structure; ie, will you allow users such as myself to set a fixed number of voices for ACE's run-time environment?

This is a relatively new thing (it wasn't necessary with any of my previous releases). I'll think about it, but can't say yet if and when. I keep it in the bck of my mind though and try to figure something out.

If you just save all your patches with those voice settings, isn't that enouph?
Make your init patch with the voice settings you want too.
