There wasn't really a vote or anything. But for the record: I was *for* renaming it, but I have arranged with sticking to the name.

(the name is the least important thing about it atm. As long as people get upset about it rather than the interface and concept itself, I'm totally happy. I guess a nice side effect is that it keeps people occupied channeling destructive energy on unimportant things while elsewhere other people make the actual decisions, bringing things forward)

Ok I'll not comment on CLAP any further but I will leave you with this....if you call people trying to help you by suggesting the name is crude and unprofessional "destructive energy" then I'd say your ego is getting in the way and your skin is gossamer thin.

Oh and no matter how well respected you are as a developer or as a person if you make snarky comments you're going to get snarky responses.

I've said it a half dozen times or more now I wish you good luck and success with the new format but I'd suggest you thicken your skin a bit during the process. I'm out of the discussions.

Because those plugins refer to one of the meanings of Clap. This format has nothing to do with either meaning. If you don't see the crudeness of the name then that says more about you as a person.

I have let you guys know this multiple times and I have kindly asked to move the discussion elsewhere. If you want to be respectful to Urs and his company forum, then that's probably a better place for discussions about the name.

I'm frankly more interested in knowing that we may see U-he betas and a host that supports this format within "weeks." Now, I've been around long enough to know that could mean months, but still psyched.

Well, one thing is certain. When Duke Nu... I mean Zebra3 is released, it will definitely be released in CLAP format from day one.

Thus, in a few weeks we think we'll see u-he betas of CLAP plug-ins among quite a few others, and at least one initial implementation in one popular host, maybe two. We hope this will be the beginning of announcements and statements form others, hopefully with some positive news.

Coming back to this from the position of the layman, is there any way that we can help with the project? Money? Testing? Advocacy?

I don't have the development chops (in this field), but I'd love to help if it's at all possible.

I'm not aware of any news, but - even if I was at liberty to say - I'm also not really close to the gossip atm.
