Yes. I particularly like to feed this kind of stuff into my modular, via Mutable Instruments Ears, which generates gates and envelopes from it, with or without actually hearing the sounds themselves. Plus just loading/running snippets of the sounds into a wavetable or granular synth, and/or myriad effects, whether hardware or software.

IIRC, I could not really get gleetchlab to work well enough, last time I tried it. Maybe I'll give it another shot. Along with this creature from the id thing...

After buying the UAD Ampex 102 a week or so ago at the $34ish from Uncle E and hoping that the Studer A800 would come up, the bundle of the Ampex plus Studer is now $99 which I guess with the voucher means it's $49, ie only a few dollars more for the two.
