VB3 is crashin' on me!

B4 has a great skin. I love the way it looks and I love the user interface. I HATE the way it sounds. I've done everything I could do to make it sound better with no luck. Ugh! VB3 isn't sexy, but it sounds damn good! This plug rivals the good clonewheels out there. Like many out there, I've been trying to get it working with my Receptor for months. Hopefully, the fix is here!

Post

Hurray, good news that a fix is underway!

Thank you Muse & Guido...

I'll give it another go when Receptor compatibility is confirmed, and hopefully I'll dig it, but saying it "destroys" B4 is a pretty major exaggeration, IMO
I respect your evaluation Watto, but having both B4 2 and VB3 as well as a C3, the sonic depth of the VB3 is far better than the B4 IMO. The scanner simulation is great as well as the percussion. Im not bothered about simulated Leslies so I can't comment on them subjectively because you can't beat moving air. The raw tone of VB3 is IMO superior to B4. Of course, everyone has their favourites. Some people swear by the XK3, which I sold. I like the way VB3 is constantly updated by Guido. When was the last time B4 was improved?

I bought the Hamichord because of it's ability to run organ plugs and not be outdated as you can put on the next generation of organ software and updates for the current ones. It is loaded with B4 and VB3 and I won't be bothering with B4!

Of course, everyone has their favourites :)

Okay, I'm convinced. So, I just purchased the vintage bundle a few minutes ago. Which leads me to ask the following:

1. Will I be able to install Mr. Ray and GS201 on Receptor?

2. How about Milestone? Anybody knows if this runs on Receptor?

K.

Mr. Ray is good working on Receptor, don't know about Gs201 and Milestone.

GS201 works. I tried it when we were finding what the problem was with VB3

Post

Cool.
I will have to put GS201 on my Receptor - I have it on my Daw, but never tried it on the Receptor.
Mr. Ray is a staple for me but I have not tried Mr. Ray II yet. Anyone think it's a big step up from the original?

Post

Mr.Ray 2.2 was my staple EP until I bought Lounge Lizard 3. It's a great free Rhodes (or Wurly) and plays beautifully on Receptor. Also a great improvement over the older Mr Ray...

But let's not hijack the thread - who has installed Farhan's update? Were you already installed with the earlier VB3? Did you uninstall it first? etc.

It's all about the music. I keep telling myself that...

I uninstalled, and re-installed VB3. Works beautifully now with single/multi changes.

Mr Ray works well too. In general, it has a more convincing tone to it, than v2.2.

Mr Tramp is working well too.
