I think I'm getting the hang of this. Making the controls work bidirectionally was a bit of a pain - preventing MIDI loops. Had to use the z parameters in Lemur (touch detection) to control routers in Reaktor.

So, here's the first module that I've developed for my Lemur (for iPad). Yeah, it's pretty basic and it's based on one of the factory modules, but scripting/coding isn't my main gig by any means, so be nice dammit! It's a dual XY controller for controlling the cutoff and resonance of 2 filters individually. It's pre-mapped for Z3TA 2, but you can easily adapt it (e.g., using the Lemur Editor or MIDI learn in your DAW/synth) for any other synth or filter plugin. It really works nice at low speeds with a minimal range to add some random movement to your filters (e.g., one low-pass and one hi-pass or band-pass). At high speeds and large ranges, you get all-out filter mayhem.

Suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Nice! I wonder if you can use this easily with Alchemy?

Post

Alternatively my Kore template should also work pretty well for Alchemy as it has a similar layout:

I also made a generic synth controller - biased towards Zebra's layout:

These are just beginners pieces - just getting into it myself too

Thanks! Yes, you can use this to control Alchemy's XY pads or Remix Pads very easily using MIDI Learn - use the axis lock buttons on each of the Lemur filter controllers when learning each axis.

These look cool but I'm not getting them to do anything. Are you supposed to use OSC or midi with them? - I can't see any setup instructions (on Mac)

Also that Live app Mu - does it only work if you have Max for Live installed too? Would it work for Intro?

Osc. In osc reaktor settings, activate and local with port 10,000. You will need to add an entry called Lemur with the ipad's ip address on port 8,000.

Don't know about mu as i don't have live. However i believe it's possible to install a runtime version of max for free.

Hi Steveyt,

Does the 'premium content' mean they aren't free??? I just logged in and downloaded them easy enough but ain't put them on the iPad yet. I'm cool with paying for stuff but I'd like to know if this is maybe a business model Liine are going to take.

BTW, I'm maybe wrongly assuming your something to do with 'Liine', so please accept my applologies if your not :)

Thanks in advance
No, that Glitch is meant to be there.....

While I'm at it, is anyone else using the 'Mackie emu' patch from the user library?

I'm loving it atm, but I don't seem to be able to get it to work bi-directional - ie it doesn't update the iPad 'faders' if i move a 'fader' in Cubase. All the transport and jog wheel work fine and I can move the mixer in Cubase & control the solo/mute etc via Lemur but not all the other buttons do much if anything at all.

I do appreciate that its a version 1.0 as its clearly labeled so but I must admit that all these years with VSTi's and Automap, my midi skills have clearly diminished!!! lol - I also haven't got much idea how to use a Mackie Controller either, so its probably best asking before I do something stupid - I started pissing about with drivers at the weekend all because I got the midi leads in the wrong port!!!

Thanks in advance.

No, they're free. I'm nothing to do with liine. I have been using Antonio Blanca's templates for a while so I'm just pointing these out as they're amazing in my opinion. I highly recommend using abreakpoint2 with abysnth.

Lol, nice one mate. I thought when I was typing that I wasn't 100% you were part of Liine and that you maybe just spreading the word, hence my disclaimer at the end of my post.

Thanks for the help/advice tho mate. Part of the reason I asked was so I wasn't pissed off when I finally get these into the studio, as I started going off on one in my mind thinking exactly what you suggested - Link with Absynth!!!

Lemur is one of those devices that makes me desperate to get into my studio, as I literally get hundreds of ideas of 'things to try' when something sets me off.

Considering Lemur is the most expensive app I've purchased, it might turn out to be the best value for money :)

It all works on a PC. iconnectmidi and all midi interfaces that connect to the CCK are Class Compliant. (You can't use the CCK without a midi interface)
