NAMM-Bitwig 2.0 Update.

Seems like they've streamlined the touch and regular interfaces. Maybe they are one and the same now? It's nice to see them actually demonstrating on a touch screen. It gives me confidence that they've improved the touch functions in 2.0. I mean what if someone wants to see them edit automation. I'm sure they wouldn't set themselves up to be like "ummmm, we have to get the mouse for that..."

+ 1 for hoping we can edit automation in Touch mode with Bitwig 2.

There is one improvement to the piano roll, which is that you can set the pointer tool individually for the piano roll. So lets say you select the pointer tool for the arrangement window and the pen tool for the piano roll. So whenever you hover the piano roll, your pointer will change into the pen toll automatically. Quite nice and speeds up the workflow.

The multiple time signature thing was deemed as "on the agenda".

That's actually the last feature that I am dying to have along with the other stuff from 2.0. I did a project about a month ago that absolutely needed multiple meters in the timeline. I used Timeline markers as a workaround, but it was an amazingly huge headache at the time (and it wasn't my music, so I couldn't change it basically, 1 moved to 3 for a bit, and then back to 1- but keeping my place was a colossal PITA).

They are also very much aware of the fallout from the new licensing scheme.

Of course they are. This board lit up like crazy because of that. I'd be willing to wait and see how things go when 2.0 releases to see if they need to change it again. People will vote with their Dollars/Euros- and that matters more than internet polls. Thanks for the input on what you saw at the show. I wanted to do NAMM this year, but my schedule won't allow it.

This video is insane, I must say that I truly hate windows from the bottom of my heart as I am a mac user, I bought a maxed out surface pro 4 at some point in life just to try bitwig and all its glory on a touch screen but it was a bad experience because of the OS(windows ). For me it was unbearable but I must say watching bitwig 2 on a big screen(surface studio) feels amazing . I can only dream of such interesting sound design sessions where you only use your hands and immerse in the Music making process and not by some computer keyboard and a mouse..as much as i hate windows I must say that this definitely looks like the damn future..

For me it was unbearable but I must say watching bitwig 2 on a big screen(surface studio) feels amazing . I can only dream of such interesting sound design sessions where you only use your hands and immerse in the Music making process and not by some computer keyboard and a mouse..as much as i hate windows I must say that this definitely looks like the damn future..

I recon a 3 display setup with 1 being touch will be the way forward for me.

There is a problem with this 3 display setup, the Bitwig touch mode only supports one display. So if you want to use 3 displays at the same time with one touch, you can't use that mode with the onscreen dials etc.

Yes, awesome video, finally a good one from NAMM It's a pity Apple money bags do not add multi touch support to OSX ("Mac OS"). iOS is good toy devices, OSX needs touch, they could really simply add it - but they wont do, because only crap toy devices is what the stock market wants.
