At some point, we should totally write an Internet of Things plug-in that can connect to a coffee maker. I'm not sure what people would do when a plug-in finally makes coffee for them
Haha!! Well there certainly is always a demand for more coffee.

any news?

I was holding off getting Spectrumworx and I've just noticed today they've closed so that will probably make my purchase decision a bit easier

Well for anybody reading this thread.. Sandman (not Sandman Pro) is the plugin of the month at Plugin-Alliance. That means it costs 19$ which is absolutely ridiculous value. Super bang for the buck here.

How do they differ?

Post

Quite significantly.

Sandman has the same basic 'tape' delay engine with a couple of LFOs and all the freezing/buffering goodness, it's a good solid delay.

Pro adds a comprehensive 'modular' mod section (LFOs, env follower...) and, most importantly, another six delay modes (granular, pitched, multitap etc...) along with relevant parameters (diffusion for example). So a significantly more advanced and versatil effect.

Very different beasts. They only share the concept of Sleep Mode.

Sandman Pro has seven delay modes (Well, six. One is "No Echo"). There are different ways of making the stereo channels run at different delay lengths. There's a more in-depth feedback system featuring cross-feedback, diffuse smearing, and two filters. Sandman Pro also has our full, patchable modulation system. That being said, we've kept Sandman alive because it has a more guitar pedal quality to it, while Sandman Pro is a delay workstation.

Regarding SpecOps, it's been delayed a bit. Our first of the new products comes out May 1st. The Sandman Pro 1.1 update should be available that same day. SP 1.1 will have all of our new modulation system features, including a step sequencer, LFOs with phase controls, and manual LFO resets. The modulators can be minimized as well. There's a big new hardware integration feature that will be revealed around the release.

The SpecOps delay happened because of a number of issues, mostly with the new modulation system and the hardware integration. There was also a major latency reporting design issue that was causing chaos in certain hosts. Since we are not time travelers, we unfortunately had to change how STFT window size changes were reported  . Finally, we also listened to a few of the feature requests in this thread.

We're pretty much through the woods on that, so we're waiting for the QA team to push Dent, Indent, and Fault 1.1 to their beta group. I imagine SpecOps will be out around July at the current rate.

You guys are doing the most creative and original stuff under the Plugin Alliance brand.

Sandman Pro + Fault =

Keep up the great work, and good sales ;)

Ooh, now that's a great addition. Thanks.

Was just wondering, as I now appear to own all the UA plugs from various sales, but never bought the bundle as such, would Special Ops be included within the 1.1 version eventually and if so would I qualify for a copy when Spec Ops becomes available or would it just be an introductory discount?

Here's a quick preview of Dent 1.1 (free update to existing users). Indent is getting a similar upgrade.

What you can see for Dent:
-Six new clip modes.
-AGC (Auto Gain Compensation) mode. Kind of an auto-Trim knob that ensures your output audio is the same amplitude as the input. Makes cool sounds when you over-filter the output =)
-Complex mode. Previously, Dent only had one clip mode selector. Now, you can select a different clipper for the input, post-dist/pre-crush, and output. This is way more fun and powerful.
-Multimode filter. LP, HP, BP, and BR.
-Zero-crossing indicators. These will be more subtle in the final release.

What you can't see:
-Option for 2x and 4x oversampling. This has a *massive* effect on the bitcrushers. Way less harshness.
-Option to disable Waveset smoothing. Currently, the Probability section adds a bit of slew to combat the Bias and Split controls (which add DC offset). You can disable this for true waveset behavior. This is much better if you're using the Probability section for granular sounds.

What you can see for all 1.1 updates:
-Module minimization. You can see what a collapsed sine module looks like. Instead of totally disappearing, you can still see the modulation ports. "P" is the new Phase control. "T" is the new retrigger input and button.
-Step Sequencer. It's awesome. I love it. You can also see our cleaned-up Tempo and Uni/Bi buttons.
-Left/Right buttons on the drop-down menus. Drop-down menus now also work 100% of the time.

What you can't see for 1.1:
-Mystery hardware integration.
-"Randomize Parameters" function in the preset menu.
-Ability to disable OpenGL rendering.
-More interface scaling choices.
-Improvements for the modulation system cable handles.
-Lots and lots of bug fixes and other minor improvements that I'm forgetting about. Some major performance improvements, as well.

Thank you for your support! PA handles the bundles, so I'm not sure on prices or what their bundle plans are. I know that SpecOps won't be included in the 1.1 bundle. If you own all of the plugins (or the 1.1 bundle), you'll get a great upgrade price when the new stuff comes out.

Sounds good to me :)

Looking forward to the sequencer on Sandman Pro, crazy possibilities there...

My favorite distortion getting even better ?? Nice!!!!

That looks like an awesome update to what is already an absolutely brilliant plugin,
it get's used in every project on multiple tracks here so I'm really excited to check out this update. :phones:   :tu:

I contacted Plugin Alliance about this a while back, and they assured me that bundle owners get no advantages over those who purchased all the plugins separately (as I did). I was curious as to why the 100% UA bundle appeared to reset to full price once I individually picked up the final plug I was missing. Apparently this is because their system already considers you a bundle owner when you own every plugin no matter how you acquired them, and so the 'reset' bundle price represents buying a new license for every plug.

Very interesting !

Will Sandman "regular" will get also similar upgrades ?
