What am I doing wrong?
Try delete the file named "db.db3" It will be rebuilt next time you launch DX7 V, and you will probably be able to see the presets after that.

Anyway, the correct and safer way to distribute the files would be through the "Export Bank" option and then using the "Import" option (both options can be find in the menu that opens by clicking in the Arturia Logo)
I looked for the db.db3 file and couldn't find it. Would it also exist on the Windows version of DX7V?

I copied all the presets, including their subfolders, to my "User" preset folder inside of \ProgramData\Arturia\DX7V

The "import bank" option seems to want to import one file at a time. Don't have time for that.

Wrong folder. Right is the user folder in
ProgramData\Arturia\Presets\DX7V

Read my post one more time ...

That's exactly where I put them and they still aren't showing up.

Yes. It is located inside ProgramData\Arturia\Presets

That's not the right folder. You missed a folder level: ProgramData\Arturia\Presets\DX7 V\User

Judging from what you wrote, you placed them inside the ProgramData\Arturia\DX7 V folder, which is where the resources files go, but NOT the presets.

Well, sometimes, you have to choose

Ok, so what I was actually missing was the /arturia/presets/ folder from the instructions, sorry.

There was no User folder inside of /presets/dx7v/, so I made one and copied all the presets into it. Then I deleted db.db3 and started the DX7V app. Still not seeing the presets.

Just be a little creative.
First reboot your computer.
There was no user folder so maybe DX7 does not know about it.
Create a user preset so the app knows there's a "user" folder being used. That might do the trick.
Just work with it a little.

There are a lot of presets in there. It took my (performant) computer about 30 seconds to index them; than the new folders appeared. It may take a little more time on yours.

onerob wrote: Sat Dec 29, 2018 11:52 pm Some early tests show that the full velocity option can be very useful on certain presets, even if they should, in theory, use the default DX7 velocity mapping.
I think the default velocity option is only if you use an actual hardware DX-7 as a controller. If you're using a standard controller, the full option will sound like a DX-7. Someone did a Dexed, DX-7, and DX-7V comparison video and confirmed this. If you want to get the right sound, you'll want to use the full option (unless you own the hardware). I don't like at all that Arturia chose to do it this way considering most people will not be using a DX-7 as their controller. It should be a global option IMO, not per preset.

Oh they do show up. It does take time to populate. Of course I had tons of presets already so I had to know where to look. I would go to the browser. Look under banks. It will NOT be under User. They will be listed out differently. It took a little flipping back and forth for them to show up but I assume that was just the time to populate. In all about a minute.

But go to the browser.

Me again with the iMac. Still not seeing these patches using DX7 V. Never saw any extensions on any of the files. Using the Finder, you can see they are supposed to be there. So I tried Importing: it sat there for hours say something like, "Importing...please wait"; tried that twice. Did not see an import option within Export. Tried the Export option to User, that didn't work. The one person said the files are not in the User folder, so I did a Search for a particular patch using the Search function. Still not there. Searched manually in every folder, still not there. Relaunched DX7 V several times. Turned computer completely off, turned on DX7 V again. Still not there. Help please?

aaron - as mentioned above -- double-check that you are moving the folders under

Macintosh HD⁩ ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Arturia⁩ ▸ ⁨Presets⁩ ▸ ⁨DX7 V⁩ ▸ ⁨User⁩

Once they are there, re-launch the DX7 V and open the Library. ( \\\| icon at top of the GUI). In there - click the 'Clear All' button, just in case you have some rogue filtering happening. Then you should see the additions. If not... Give it a minute or two and let the GUI catch up to your DX7 indexing up those libraries. That's what worked for me on my Macs (iMac and MacBook Pro).

...and by folders.. I mean copy the ones in user.zip that were posted here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=517221&p=7267604#p7267604 I copied them out of the user directory in that zip to the location above.. No user/user.. ;)

jdoo,
Thank you for replying. I see 2 different banks (one with all 9,500 patches, and separately I have the "DX7" folder of patches, from the same set) in the Finder, exactly where you say they should be. I even tried copying and pasting hundreds of "'DX7' folder of patches' into the User folder (not one at a time, all at once). Still, none of those patches are visible in DX7 V. I have Mac OSX 10.11.6 in my iMac, the newest that I can use with my 9 year old iMac. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

OK, here is a step by step guide. Try to follow it STEP BY STEP

1. Unzip the ZIP file. You should have now a folder named User, with several folders inside it;
2. Copy the entire User folder (do not mess with the contents) to Macintosh HD/Library/Arturia/Presets/DX7 V (you don’t need to create a new folder User because you are already copying a folder called User)
3. Delete the file called db.db3 that’s in the root of Macintosh HD/Library/Arturia/Presets
4. Launch DX7 V stand-alone.
5. Wait for a few minutes while the presets database is rebuilt.
6. Click in the library icon (it's the icon at the right o the Arturia logo). Hopefully, you will see ALL the banks listed after the Factory Bank.

Hi guys,

I have a new userbank with over 21,500 sounds. They are also from my first user bank. Again, some will be double. A program that finds duplicate files would be great. I hope you enjoy the sounds.
I wish you all the best, health and peace for the New Year.
