I'm not worried about people having my email. I own a business. My email is all over the Internet. And I already get tons of spam so who cares?seafire wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:05 pm You should contact their support and not give out your email on a public forum.
And I did contact support after I posted this.

You're not alone. It's been my only pain point with u-he plugins.ThomasLehmann wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 7:14 pm Maybe I'm just being a bit oversensitive and worrying too much about it. But I always try to leave behind or store as little of my complete data as possible. I've encrypted important files on my computer in a TrueCrypt container, including the registration data for the uhe plugins. So, if it doesn't bother anyone else, it's probably just my being overly cautious.
To some it was a problem, but you make some very special, high quality plugins, and your approach to the business side of things is generally very favorable to your customers. That inspires some confidence, and as a user, that might mean accepting something that I don't particularly like or accept elsewhere, to have and use your plugins.Urs wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 5:00 pmI'm a bit confused. The old serials are plain text files that can be opened in any text program and show the user name and email address. Opening any of our plug-ins shows the user name next to "registered to". If this never was a problem, how is it suddenly a problem when it is a graphics file that only you have access to while logged into your computer?ThomasLehmann wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 4:18 pm It would be enough for me if my full, real name wasn't on the license card.
It's not a deal breaker or cause for panic. On my end, I've still bought all your plugins. It's just that if there was an option to encrypt or hash that data (in the card and in the display area of the plugin), I would choose that option. That's what I originally thought the license cards were going to allow.
Image-Line uses names also, but recently they've added the option of using a license plate/string instead. In their case it's an alternate license ID that isn't associated with any personally identifiable information, and thus can't be reverse engineered for those details. I'd likewise be fine with a u-he generated ID to replace the name, even if the e-mail address remained.
Nevertheless, your reasoning makes sense, and I don't know how practical or impractical a solution might be. If it is practical, I'm all for it. If not, then so be it.

And you think that hasn't already happened? I've been on the Internet since 1997. I've stopped worrying about these things a long time ago.

This is when you contact our support.wagtunes wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 7:26 pm Well, I requested my license cards and sadly nothing came.
This is what I suspect. I bought Zebra 2 a long time ago under an email I no longer have access to. Now I thought I re-registered everything under my new email, xxx@xxx.xxx but I may be mistaken. Urs is there any way you can check this? I did buy Dark Zebra so I know I am entitled to the Zebra 3 free upgrade but without a new license, I don't now what happens.

It is a new system. Some things need to be ironed out over time.
We can for instance use the unique card number and display it instead of a user name. Maybe as an option.
We have an idea for people who want to lock a card to a computer, e.g. in a studio or university setting. In this case the visual info on the card itself could be scrambled, using the CPU ID. Stuff like that.
There are many options and paths to go from here, it just needs to start somewhere. We want to start with the plain PNG solution because it seems attractive. It may have drawbacks, but I'm sure we can figure something out in time.

Cool! Then not will be resolved. Just know that we had a hell of a few weeks, so our support team may take their weekend serious and get back to you on Monday or Tuesday.

It's a very cool concept, and the card looks great.

I just received my physical license card in the mail. Very cool! Hardware is much better than software.
