Just to give an idea of what I'm talking about with the colors...stefancrs wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 8:25 amGah, will inspect again. Thanks for letting me know!pekbro wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 5:51 am FYI: So the win installer is still doubling up. I have to manually delete the old version, which I always forget to do, so I have to rename the top (old folder) to be able to copy the new version out to its own dir, so I can delete the old version...
Is there any chance you might consider allowing for custom color settings for the hilite colors? That's always a nice option to have imo...
-Cheers
Will have a think about the color thingy![]()
*This particular plugin has I think 10 pre-defined base colors you can choose from.

Much respect for your clear communication, consistent updates, and for your willingness to incorporate other people’s ideas. I think the improvements are making Smackbox an even better product overall.stefancrs wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 12:58 pm Smackbox V2 - Update v1.0.9 Released

As far as I understand, it's just because I was building in the latest version of Ubuntu and hence using high library versions. I will build the next release in an older version and hopefully that will help.

What type of copy protection does this use? You mentioned that it locks to the machine ID, so I'm guessing challenge/response?
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

I guess it counts as that. You have to enter your licence key and that gets stored locally and validated (in the background) each time you launch the plugin.audiojunkie wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 4:45 pm What type of copy protection does this use? Edit: on the server side a unique machine ID gets connected to the licence and you can install on the plugin on up to three machines at the same time. You can delete activations yourself if you want to transfer to a fourth machine etc.
