How are other third party sound sets (ie The Unfinished) behaving in these new versions of Zebra's ?

Is there a way to have old and new versions running at the same time until we are sure the new one fits workflow, etc ?

Is there a way to keep/transfer for lack of a better word the old library structure of previous custom sounds in the new versions ?

Fair point, there should be a disclaimer on a product page that it's not upgradeable to Zebra 3.
Why? I don't think upgrades (especially free ones) for future versions of a product are ever implied or guaranteed. And I think it's been discussed on here that "Zebra 3" doesn't necessarily follow Zebra 2 as an updated product. It's more like an all-new synth, rather than the latest version of the Zebra line.

I wasn't happy about it, but I've recently bought two instruments that were on great sale, only to find out less than a month after I bought them that they were being replaced by new versions. The vendor didn't bother to tell me the product I was buying was about to be made obsolete. Had I known, I would have waited for the new product to come out and go on a super sale. But there's nothing in the ethics of sales that says such information omissions are unfair.

Dance Pack was always two soundsets combined, and now they live on individually as "Energy" and "inspiration"...

I think what they means is that if you already have Z2, then your Z2 serial will work fine with ZL. If you have Z2 and TDZ registered before the Nov 15 date, then you get Z3 for free, and if you have Z2 registered before the Nov 15 date, you can get Z3 for €29 when it comes out. By 'crossgrading to Zebra Legacy' they don't mean you are losing your upgrade-to-Z3 rights. Only that, so far as owning Z2 stuff is concerned, you now have Z2+TDZ+soundsets.

Someone official can correct me if my understanding is wrong.

i have bazille and I realise it's a specific proposition in terms of fm and phase distortion, but highly modular. What does Zebra offer? It sound great, has lots of options (some of which appear quite intimidating at first - all the graphs and patterns for oscillator shapes), but is it significantly different?

Totally different sound and far more abilities with Zebra. It's like should I get a £5000 telescope if I already have a £5000 DSLR camera.

It sounds like you think Zebra eclipses bazille so having both is then a bit redundant?

I updated Zebra2 with Zebra Legacy and ZebraHZ. I was able to drag/drop the Legacy soundsets into HZ easily, but Zebra2 didn't work. The preset browser is empty, says Waiting, and when I try again, it says blocked during scan. I unload and reload, but the "scan" never finishes.
Any tips to fix?

On Windows a scan can sometimes take very long due to Windows Defender.
But if it's completely stuck, then maybe the database got damaged.
In this case the only fix is to delete the preset database.

They sound very different compared to each other. And the workflow is very different. So no, in my opinion there's little overlap and you should get both :wink:
