Yes, and to me, this means I will start using Cubase more often as my secondary platform, besides Bitwig. I'm especially thinking about the fact that Cubase too, now supports the DAW Project protocol for moving projects between DAW apps.

What I miss in Bitwig is being able to address more than 512 ports. A limitation Cubase doesn't have. This is essential if you want to do live orchestration of big orchestral music, utilizing DivisiMate. But our BWS future looks bright in this regard, because I suggested a wish for "a device that detects every note's position inside a chord and splits the MIDI chord into several outputs for musically driving an ensemble setup of instrument tracks", and it was well received. So hopefully we will be able to do this all within Bitwig some day. :-)
Oh wow, that would be great, not having to use DivisiMate at all. Thank you for suggesting such a device.

And yes, you're right. Bitwig Studio + Nuendo = Endgame.

Is there much point in getting Polyverse Gatekeeper for drawing volume automation from scratch when you're using Bitwig 6? "Capable of sample-fast transitions and equipped with a unique variable smoothing algorithm ... the fastest, most accurate, and most flexible volume modulator in the world." Does the volume modulation actually have significant advantages over the native volume automation in Bitwig 6? (Again not counting whatever automation envelope presets Gatekeeper comes with of course.)

I see no use for it & its looks limited for 1st glance, I just use the segments/curves modulator for most stuff

Something I use along those lines is Oxywave, its has gating but I use it mostly for beat re-chopping, it does a lot more than gatekeeper

No, there are so much things in Bitwig now with Curve modulator etc, no need for polyverse gatekeeper imo. At least I never use it.

I still find Gatekeeper to be the most pleasing curve editor to work in as far as drawing shapes goes compared to Bitwig or Shaperbox, that said I don't use it much any more because I do have these other tools and they often justify reaching for them sooner than gatekeeper most of the time just due to other features or ease of access.

Gatekeeper can do some things really quickly but if you have presets set up and don't find yourself drawing meticulous patterns too often I don't know that there is necessarily a need for it.

Other quality of life things that make it interesting: time parameter, boost gain per node / smoothing control (if you listen to Infected Mushroom they often intentionally make sounds clicky and Gatekeeper has easy ways of doing this), many snapshots you can cycle between in real time OR have playing simultaneously, quick modulation of amp & panning and a built in quick delay that sounds quite nice for simple ping pong duties.

It still has enough to make it unique IMO but whether or not that fits in your workflow is TBD.

sorry, I´m out of the loop on this one, are there any hints about when there is supposed to be an (non-beta) BWS6 release?

I´m holding on to my upgrade code for to long and it itches!

Their statement said they were aiming for a fall 2025 full release. Fall officially ends in Germany on 11/30....Fingers crossed. My luck, it'll be spring 2026 and I'll have to pony up again.

In the rest of the world it ends on the 20th of december.

When Autumn (Fall) ends depends if you're using the astronomical calendar or the meteorological calendar. Bitwig weren't explicit so it could be either

How does one download the version 6 demo? Every time I click "Try" it points to 5.3.13

With the current Black Friday sale going on I might consider updating my version of Bitwig which has long since expired but only if I can demo version 6 first.
