Click to "relocate" the Cursor anywhere on the Timeline.
Play...
Rewind/Start again, and again and again from the Cursor original "relocation" (Transport doesn't stop) .
What about a shortcut to "Goto Last User Position"?
Studio One has a "Play Start Marker" which I use all the time. It just slaps down a bright green marker and playback always starts from there. You can drag to move and double click to remove it. It's really useful and there's no question about where playback will start.

I think (IIRC) that’s already available in MuLab and it’s quite different than the one proposed above which is absolutely temporary and can be used everywhere (for quick zero-in analysis and editing) without leaving Markers all over the timeline.

Hi,

I'm not sure where to post a bug issue for M9, so please advise.

I'm running M9 on Linux with Wine 7.4 staging. Everything works fine, the speed of this program is better than some native ones :-)

I found one issue. When you first open M9, it presents you with a demo song. Now, if you right-click on any track and then click on "Choose Target Module", the window goes on and off instantly. It doesn't allow me to do anything. The same thing happens if you want to add an automation sub-track.

Can you reproduce this issue?

Cheers.

Sorry but Linux is not really a supported platform, so it cannot be regarded as a bug.

Post

Ok. I saw on this forum a lot of people asking you for a native Linux version. However, I know this is a one-man company, so it may be hard for you to time management a task like that. So, my advice would be for you to work closely with Wine people. Like I said, M9 worked almost flawless under Wine. It had the speed and cpu of a native application. It doesn't feel that I'm working with M9 on top of Wine at all. It's really amazing. If you could put some love one those "small" flaws, you will have a software working 100% under Linux. And that would be more than enough for most of us, since 90%+ of Linux users have to use Wine anyway because of Windows VST plugins.

Don't know if I missed it but will M9 not support rewire? I don't see Rewire when adding instrument track.

Post

Indeed ReWire has been dropped.

Congrats on pre-release Jo!

workflow features is all I need to use Mu more.
Modular area workflow
FXP preset drag and drop
things like these...

such improvements means that my joy from other new features will be much better too.
the more workflow features, the more I will use it because the core is already great.

Although I agree that those features are very needed and I'm in the same slow down situation, I would've used Mux much more with those features :dog:

Jo said that he will give those features attention a bit later because he want to get close to the release date of M9. -> lets help him get there as soon as possible :hyper: :tu:

You might try the stable version, just in case. Unfortunately, Windows provides a dozen ways to do something and only six of then may be right, although they all work fine in real Windows. I'm amazed Wine even works as well as it does.

Non-relevant stuff:
I'm on Mac, where Wine is stuck at v5. Otherwise, I'd give it a go for you. There's no maintainer anymore. The move to ARM does have a ripple effect... I've just spent the last three days looking for a stable dev environment for Windows using Wine so I don't have to use the crappy PC laptop at all except for final testing. I've got a working gcc, but the IDE is goofy...
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(
