Yes I know, the gui size was set to be good on an average screen. I am in close contact with the FlowStone developers and I have suggested to be able to change the gui because its something I cannot have control over. Lets hope they add this new feature once they finish the 64 bit version which I think is a much more important matter right now.Zexila wrote:Looks kinda small from less than half meter distance from screen with 1920x1080 on 21.5".
One of the "secrets" of the Virus is that its very very punchy. This is because when the envelope attack stage is set to 0, the volume is instantaneous and you can hear the waveform right away. Its hard to explain, the best way to understand is if you record a simple dry sawtooth from Viper and zoom in on the waveform you can see that the wave is instantly loud, where as some synths slowly fade in teh wave even if the amp envelope is set to 0. This makes it possible to have very punchy sounds that hit hard, and come out from a mix. In the BS Deep Sub preset this click happens for two reasons: 1. the osc phase is set to 1, so every key resets it to start again, and will cause discontinuities in the sound. Turn it to 0 (Free) so the wave phase can continue where it left off. Or method 2. that preset uses the Mono (R) which is retriggering the envelpes, set it to Mono 3 and the clicking will be gone.dee3d wrote:However some patches are very "clicky" - BS Deep Sub when played legato for instance, or PD Gated Love which clicks with the gateing. Couldn't get rid of the clicks no matter what...
Hmm, that is very strange indeed, it shouldnt do that. Does it happend when you turn the pitch wheel with your mouse or only from your midi keyboard?fanodu1 wrote:I just tried the demo in FL and it works and sounds great at relatively low CPU usage, but when I move the pitchwheel the CPU usage rises to ridiculous levels, this can be right?
Thank you for the suggestion, I'll see what I can do. I am open to all suggestions so keep them coming!xbitz wrote:feature request, would be nice if the 'section locking' also would be visible inside the 'dynamic tabs' too... and thx for this feature
Yes, my aim with Viper was not to create an exact 100% clone of the Virus (that would be almost impossible), but to create a synth that has a very similar feel, workflow and overall character. When I started modeling the parameters I noticed some very odd choices they made, and sure I could have emulated it moch closer, but that would require a very long mathematical formula and would use a lot of CPU. So I used simpler ones that are still very close but use a fraction of the CPU. I thought that was more important. I am curious about the Ring Modulation, I thought I managed to recreate that pretty good. What differences do you notice? Could you maybe post some clips?Elektronisch wrote: But here are the noticable things that are different from virus ti:
1. Virus Ti sounds cleaner and filters seem to be a bit brighter (and less muddy in mid-high area) and the bottom seem to be stronger (but bottom can be fixed with eq)
2. Viper's env to osc 2 behaviour is littly bit off
3. Detune is slightly off
4. Ring modulator, the behaviour is somewhat different
Guys there is a very nice manual I wrote, dont tell me no one has read it yet haha. Its in the Viper vst folder, didnt anyone look in there? You can also access it from the main menu in ViperTouch The Universe wrote: I hope there is a manual but right now its fun enough exploring.
Yes unfortunately the bit of cpu spike is something I dont have control over. I have to examine that in a later update.keel wrote:+- First I thought that 89€ is expensive, as it is just a 32bit and win, but price is very good I think now. However, I already own your JP6K, so It would be nice to get some discount on this one![]()
- When I change preset, CPU makes spike. It's always same, stays there like 1 second and then CPU meter return on normal 5%. Happen on every time when you change preset. Not a big deal I guess?
Some quick thoughts... Actually, that demo noise is super annoying. It's too loud and comes too often, that it makes not want to test Viper deeper and start to do sounds and so on. Please change it something better, like uhe. Quiet noise cracling randomly.. Or Rapid, 25min fully featured testing time.
Ok I have lowered the noise volume in the demo and I changed the frequency to ever 60 sec. Hopefully it shoudl be better now so please download the demo again from my site.
Hmm, that is strange I took great care to make it nice and sharp. But I plan to add skinning possibility in a future update so everyone can have gui that they like.Elektronisch wrote:I was wondering why the plugin GUI feels a littlr bit blurry? Like really old plugin. Actually in comparison with virus ti (i know its stupid to compare GUI) it also looks a bit more sharper/clear like it uses higher resolution textures
I am not sure I understand. What do you mean "delay"? The unison is generated before the oscillators, infact it comes from the voicing engine, telling the oscillator how many voices they should generate at the same time. Can you provide any audio demos?chk071 wrote:The unison also acts a little weird, as it seems to "delay" the effect of the filter, but, i'm not sure if the filters come "behind" the unison, or if unison means that the voices including the filters are being duplicated.
