Hi all together,
ready for next number: Rotation 18 finished ... puh, i hope i am not the last one.
I test various synth from CM Mag, but for me it seems that Dune CM or Zebra CM are the synth i would use.
Because i use Dune(BE) in Rotation 7 + 8 i will give Zebra CM a try.
This would be also my first time to play with formant filters ... and i have a lot of fun
BTW: the Zebra has a VERY low CPU-Usage
Songname: Rotation 18
Host: FL Studio 10.0.9
ZebraCM: 25 Instances
Insert FX:
IxoxDelay x 5, Lightweight Compressor x 2, Loudmax x 16
Fruity Parametrics Eq2 x 18, Fruity Compressor x 3
Fruity Filter x 1, Fruity Reverb 2 x 1, Fruity Stereo Enhancer x 1,
Soundgoodizer x 1
Master FX:
Fruity Parametrics Eq2
Fruity Compressor
Loudmax
(Fruity Spectroman)
Automation: yes, but a lot from the buildin Lfos
DR: 7
And last: all patches are done from scratch (with help from the "sound essentials" series in Computer Music Magazin from Scot Solida)
Enjoy the track and have fun

No time the redo last night so I have to change my official entry. The track I submitted used 2 different synths. Here is my official entry:crimsonwarlock wrote:I'm afraid this track won't qualify, you need to do ALL the sounds with one and the same synth/instrument.bh9090 wrote:Mostly DuneCM. 19 tracks. Linplug 1 track...
So you might make this your official entry (I quite like it as well).bh9090 wrote:All DuneCM in Live.

- 14 Instances of Dune CM
- KR-Reverb
- Live with Compressor, EQ Eight, and Limiter
Thanks to crimsonwarlock for the heads up, sorry for the switch-er-roo.

I had almost no time time month to make a track, though I did make a quicky duby preview... not happy with it. So I'm starting over right now.
Some tips for people finishing today:
#1
Organize, organize, organize, organize... - Name all your tracks, color tracks by category (bass, percussion, lead, pads, fx), and move them into folders if possible
#2
Name all your midi parts according to the track name - so don't have any 'track 2 copy 3' stuff... it will get confusing
#3
Hide your automation parts until you need to see them since that will give you a nice overview - automation can quickly eat up DAW real estate.
#4
Save often, and always save to a new file - it takes like 5 seconds. Here's the rule:
1) Save after something happens that helps move the track forward
2) Save if you are experimenting and don't know if you like something - you can revert back to the old saved file
3) Save ESPECIALLY after you really like something
#5
Your saved files should be named for what you did aka - 'osc cm - Save 3a - Nice upper bass part layered'

Here's my entry. It's not finished, but there's no time, so decided to cut it almost in half and submit it anyways. A note about the mix: it can pretty much be atrocious, since I use an old home DVD player and its speaker for "monitoring".

Title: The Inheritors.
On Sound Cloud as
pmj rit - The Inheritors
16 instances of DUNE CM
DAW: SONAR X2 PRODUCER
effects:
Flux Bittersweet II, Wolfram CM, KR Reverb CM, KR Delay CM
Automation. Plenty
Will definitely continue to use this synth (or DUNE BE).
Link:
https://soundcloud.com/paulr01/pmj-rit-the-inheritors
The patches are tweaked presets (actually one or two might be from scratch - I forget). The Bell is the only one with no tweaking.
