We think we have found a solution to bring hardware acceleration back to our UIs without overly deep surgeries. We plan to post intermediate versions (Latest Builds) of Hive, ACE, Bazille and Diva in a few weeks. The results are very promising, but we have found only one machine in our HQs which really suffered big time.

Other optimizations and bugfixes nicely reduce CPU consumption for UIs on Windows and possibly Linux as well.

Can't wait to post this stuff!
Great! Could you please include updated browser and other improvements gathered over these years for Bazille? It's been a little neglected, you know..

Yep, latest beta has those things, plus 48 semitone pitch bend range, assignable Ctrl A/B...

If I were a software developer I'd just ask my customers to stop updating their OS every f*ucking year. It's becoming a nightmare for everybody.
That's at least one nice thing Avid does.
I needed a new computer a few month ago. I bought a 10 years old macpro; it's working great, it runs old ultra stable OS where my softwares (including Live and U-he indeed) run great; and it even was very cheap.

Sorry for this rant post.

With Apple you don't get a choice really, you have to update your stuff when they break shit in every OS update...

W10 has been quite blissful for me so far, it allows me to run 20+ years old stuff on it without fail, and no plugins ever broke down for me due to an OS update.

Yeah, Apple are unnecessarily aggressive with their OS updates, but you really don't need to be on the latest yearly OS version. If you stay one OS generation behind you are 95% safe of all "new and improved" shenanigans. I don't know any software that requires you to be on Mojave. You could probably stay two generations off and still live a happy compatible life. The same goes for anything new tech really. Avoid 1st gens as much as possible.

I totally disagree. They're agressive with their marketing, but you're absolutely not forced to upgrade for anything relevant (except new emoticons in iMessage...). They only situation with no choice is when buying new; it seems like you can't downgrade a new machine anymore since a few years.
I moved from yosemite to el capitan not so long ago when L10 came out, I had no choice so I upgraded the to the oldest supported OS. Otherwise I would have stay on yosemite. My computer can run the latest os, but these "old" ones are totally rock solid for me, so...
Anyway that's just my cents, what I really feel is that users should be more responsible, for themselves and for the software development industry. That probably stupid to say. But I need to sleep, so I'm losing my already poor english.
peace.

Please try the fix:

While this is only ACE, Bazille, Diva and Hive for now, we would love to hear from everyone experiencing UI sluggishness.

Thanks, Urs!

Btw - I ended up swapping out the hard drive and with a clean install of Mojave and it’s like a brand new computer. Took two more hours at the “Genius” Bar, but at lest I can get some more mileage out of this thing.

The problem comes when you need software or an update that only works with latest OS, or you get HW with drivers only for the new one.

Apple is making their ecosystem unsustainable for music software developers and users.
