glokraw,
I corrected what I typed earlier (I can't even blame spell-check); I should have typed that Diva was also in "Fear Not and Be Strong" (Doh!). Anyway, thank you for checking out my song, I appreciate it! So now I'm listening to "Majesty In The Shadows"; it's kind of a bizarre song. Interesting audio-wise; not sure how you got some of those sounds. Though some of the elements remind me of Depeche Mode, and other elements remind me of U2 (a compliment). I think this would definitely work with the right video, TV show or movie. But until you get your own TV show, it sounds good on its own. :)

I think 35 or so Repro 1/5 Presets was used here. ALl the sounds, includes drums, Kick and everything else was made with Repro
I enjoyed the Hive energy, syncopations, transitions, backings and sounds. Quite motivational as a song, holding interest throughout. Need to get my BlueCat rig going! The Repro song, as fitting, seems more a vehicle for a wider variety of sounds and effects, and they are quite an interesting group of sounds, and presented so they can be heard well.
Cheers
Thank you mate. Hive track I trance, Repro is more like Techno or some mix of styles.

My knowledge of hugely popular bands is likely the worst of anyone on kvr :dog:
I probably used U-he's Zebra randomizer on one of the ZebraCM leads, and sent it through the Rakarrack multi-effects panel's 'Jet Flanger' setup, a scooped EQ followed by distortion, followed by the slow and deep flange, and a cathedral reverb. It's encouraging that you mention U2/Depeche Mode, as U-he sounds for the common man are up there yonder, in rarified air :hyper:

Here's the EQ and flanger panels, in case there is anything unique:

(The standard rakarrack panel holds 8 effects from among 40 or so, easy to arrange and save, and comes with 180 varied preset racks)

This is my attempt to recreate the hypnotic Stranger Things theme using Zebra. Given that the original track was produced using mostly hardware synths, I wanted to see how close I could get to it with Zebra.

For those interested, free presets are available at https://sonictales.sellfy.store/p/zebra ... ngs-theme/

Zebra is the only synth I have managed to learn to some extend so far. Compared to other synths, the simplicity and modular architecture makes it really powerful.

Hi, I'm not much aware of movies and TV series, so without a comparison in mind,
I really like your instrumentation and dynamics, and there definitely is a mood building. A longer version would be cool, should you choose to make one, or a new piece using those and similar sounds, with the same energy :hyper:
Cheers

Rnaroth,
My wife and especially my daughter are into Stranger Things; thanks for the presets!

Nice effort!

The Arp is not quite right.

Here's some weekend travelin' music made with Hive:

I collaborated (for the second time) with Jeremy Cubert (who has collaborated with Yes singer Jon Anderson and Yes bassist/guitarist Billy Sherwood), where Jeremy played Chapman Stick, and I did everything else; the song on top: "Comprehend Me Now". The song has Repro-5 and some non-u-he synths, and plenty of Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like the music, how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

The bassline immediately hooked me, and I admit to not knowingly having heard any Chapman Stick centric music, which I shortly corrected with an hours listen to various Chapman performances on youtube, quite the amazing instrument and musicians!

I enjoyed the modulations and expressions of the synth solo, like a roller-coaster ride, and the dive to the ending was luscious! The resolving dissonance on parts of the main vocal, and the swirling backing vocals hold interest. The guitar and drums were fine, lots of energy and clarity, with the bassline providing a trail to follow. The stabs are nice surprises, and guitar solo tensions created are resolved nicely. Very cool production :hyper:
I hope Jeremy let you play the Chapman Stick for a while!

glokraw,
Thank you for listening & commenting, I appreciate it! I live near Los Angeles, and Jeremy lives on the East Coast of the USA, so we've never met in person. I've never played a Chapman Stick, wish I could, even though I'd probably sound awful on it. Maybe I'd be decent on just the bass portion? I'm guessing it takes a huge amount of practice. I'm trying to recall if I've ever actually seen a Stick in person; definitely no live performances that I have seen in person. For me, Tony Levin playing Chapman Stick in Peter Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey" and King Krimson's "Elephant Talk" (Jeremy saw that performed live on TV and wanted a Stick after that; I've watched the same video on youtube dozens of times) are the quintessential Chapman Stick songs. Now I'm listening to your song "Homeward": I have listened to the first 11 minutes so far; quite relaxing & pleasant.....will come back in about 30 minutes....to finish it....OK, I am back to continue my relaxation process before I go to bed. Nice ambient song and audio quality! :)

Very cool Chapman music! Putting ye olde thesaurus to work!
Really like the Sept 29th concert in Munich...stirring lots of ideas to ponder...and hearing some KC influence in your music, and a new patch for my Nux Mighty-plug, might even craft a homebrew slide and mount the lerning curve...

In the C.S. Llewis Space trilogy, planetary traveler Ransom had to return to earth from Perelandra, and I tried to capture the essence of that journey home, with time and large bank of amazing memories to ponder.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Dark Knight Rises releasing I remade over 20 minutes of music from across the three films, in total there’s about 100 instances of ZebraHZ used in it!!

Hi, not having seen the movies, your renditions certainly have the cinematic feel,
and with a nice orchestra pit, that doesn't yell, 'hey, I'm just a synth!'.
The dynamics, timing, and instrumentation are what I would expect from a movie I paid good money to see/hear, that offered a wide range of scenes.

In a world with real crime, war and tragedy, the part beginning around 13:44 is very poignant.
Good to read you are working professionally in the music biz!
Cheers

I think you should bump your post for the weekend visitors.
It wouldn't be bragging, just showing the results of your work 8)
