Stopped digging because I sensed there's something dark and evil living inside Reaper.

There is indeed something living in there.
The deeper I dug, the closer I got to the heart of the monster...
Eventually, in the darkest recesses of a long lost menu dropdown, I found it, and the mystery was finally revealed:
A game of nibbles.

I am assuming that by "clicking on a given track on the left side" you mean clicking somewhere within the "track control panel?" If so, then try the circled options (preferences --> Plug-ins). Keep in mind that this option will switch to the highlighted track's UI if you click anywhere on that track (TCP or project window) which is why I prefer to keep the 'Only if any FX window is open' option enabled.e-crooner wrote: Wed Sep 30, 2020 4:59 pm Is there any setting that automatically switches the featured GUI to the one of the plugin selected by clicking on a given track on the left side?
Ideally the GUIs of all the tracks that are not selected disappear to prevent a messy monitor full of GUIs.
When I use the green FX button, the GUI of that track is alternately displayed and closed, but that track does not get selected by pressing the green FX button.
Likewise, clicking on a GUI does not select the corresponding track.
The way such simple things are not or oddly implemented drive me crazy.
I hope that's a bit of help.
