I have all of the mentioned synths above, and a couple more, including Avenger, Icarus 2, Rapid, Codex. To me Vital is another toy to play with, which gives more inspiration. It sounds really nice, is straight forward to program, and has a few features you might not see in all the mentioned synths.

I disagree. I have Serum, Pigments, and you forgot a couple other synths that have overlap with Vital (for me that's Phase Plant and Surge). The Vital wavetable editor and morphing modes are superior to those, stereo LFOs and randomness is really exciting (a bit like UVI Shade, but in the synth and not just for filters), the visual feedback is amazing.
TTWT is a really fun and surprisingly versatile feature (and sounds awesome, so much better than Serum's), the unison modes are more extensive than I've seen elsewhere (though Phase Plant now has very interesting ones since 1.8.5, too), there's three wavetable oscillators and not just two like in Serum / Pigments. FM with quantized randomness of operators is fun.

It is definitely inspired by other synths, like all plugins are. The UI at first looks close-ish to the UI of Serum (with the tabs and the modulation matrix), but it brings in some great features from Pigments that I always wish Serum had when I use it (alongside the new features from above). There's also audio rate modulation with key tracking LFOs etc., with an interface more focused on wavetables.

There's lots of stuff, and lots of combinations of previously known stuff that can now be used together in one synth. Going with a new UI that leads experimentation and sound design in different directions because it makes different things easier than other UIs.

But if none of these are exciting to you, then that's fine. Just speak for yourself and don't claim to see some objective truth just from a couple videos :)

To me, this basically replaces Serum, and lives happily alongside Phase Plant.

For those not on discord.
They are new builds as of this morning.

On Cubase mac, vst3, is a bit better, but still doesnt work like its vst2 version (or other plugins).
Version: 1.0.0
- Moving default install location to ~/Music on mac.
- Fixed loading saved window size in plugin.
- A couple fixes for multiple monitors at different scalings.
- Finished fixing memory/cpu issues on high dpi screens like macbooks
- Fixing a graphics slowdown and memory usage on high dpi screens.
- Fixed logging in with emails with '+' and other weird characters.

Version number remains the same.

Clicking on "Check for updates" doesn't do anything on my system.
Where can the new build be downloaded?

Hi. That does nothing for me either so not just you.

Go back to your https://account.vital.audio/ and redownload from there.

grdh20 wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 3:51 pm How do you check for updates after installing?
It automatically checks. That button is when you click on is actually a toggle button to turn auto checks on/off but it looks more like an action button like "check now". I'll make it look more like a checkbox in an update.

Arp Preset with 1 wavetable with some random modulations that creates all the tonal variations. Single wave, no wavetable scanning. The FM sounds good.
