Yes. I can absolutely understand why Spectrasonics doesn't want to create an internal wave editor for multi-sampled instruments. Extremely high quality and a massive amount of variety compared to Serum, but not so much of that fist-in-yer-face thing that Serum FX does. In Serum you can have a relatively weak osc, hit it with the distortion, OTT, let the EQ and Filter module rip, and throw Hyper at the end and it will scream like a madman.
If you want nasty aggression from Omni, best to do it from the oscs and not the FX. But it nasty that way. Real nasty.

It's like they wanted to make it more modern, but were afraid of alienating the existing fan base so they split the difference. As a fan of modern synth UIs I wish they'd gone all in, but in practice it's not quite as bad as a looks in the pictures/videos. I say this as an Omnisphere and Keyscape owner of 10 years and I’m sure many here will disagree — and maybe I’m wrong — I’ve not used it, but it’s my impression. It’s still a wonderful instrument nonetheless, but compared to something like Serum 1 and 2 it feels like a lesser jump in performance. (Apples and oranges I know)

I mean, I like the synth and Eric Persing absolutely rules, but if people wanna call out the cringe when they see it, I can't fault them. It's a balance between control and usability. Apple is maybe the most clear-cut example of this with MacOS. Just like Linux, MacOS is based on Unix and is insanely capable, yet it leaves lots of deep settings and things completely locked away. It creates a walled garden with a certain level of customisation - yet easy to use. It took reFX Nexus 20 years to fully open up it's synth engine, and yet that didn't hinder it to become one of the biggest plugins for pop and dance producers. What could you do with previous versions? Change filter, envelopes and effect settings. This is what 98.98% of people need.
As much as I want to have access to everything in Omnisphere, I am definitely in minority. Most people who use Omnisphere are not sound designers but musicians, and all decisions should therefore always be with playing musicians in mind as the first, second and third priority.

Omnisphere 3 with the ugly big taking fields. And Omnisphere 2 has these few options ASAP! not another click involved. this is a downgrade in my opinion and so much space used for these big fields.

Whelp, that Noire pic is a really nice 3D model. Somebody did that. By hand. Hence my point about the accessibility of 3D assets. There was no need for AI image. I have the same feeling about this as I had when I saw the Coca Cola's AI christmas commercial. If we were talking about small one-man-band kind of developer selling plugins for 15 bucks a piece, I would totally understand it. But it's a 500 USD synthesizer, for god damn sake. A nice Blender pic would cost a small fraction of one sold copy.
Sorry, but when Aberrant DSP, a company consisting of 2 people, can do awesome sounding plugins with beautiful hand-drawn GUI and sell them for 30 bucks, there is no need for Spectrasonics to use AI. I'm sorry.
I really hope this was just some corporate buzzwody techno-optimism on Eric's part and that they make some nice looking photos or 3D models instead. Cause honestly, this is a little insulting to everyone trying (and failing) to compete with AI. If I noticed that picture sooner, I would not have bought the upgrade. And three of my friends decided to not do so after I showed them this picure. Eric, I know you read this forum. Please fix this.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Does not have to be something like Kontakt. User facing sample import is just one sample and that's it. Good luck playing that across the keyboard and not even being able to set a loop, zero pojt crossing etc.

Agree — Noire is miles ahead of the Omnisphere image. No comparison. Design’s a bit like IQ: if you can’t recognize good design, you probably don’t have the ability to see it. I have a basic question about running Omnisphere 3.
I am running Logic on an iMac pro. 2.3ghz 18 core. Omni 3 system req's state 2.4ghz processor or faster.min.
I am fully aware of all the potential buffering etc options.
Is anyone here successfully running Omnisphere 3 on any similar powered machine?
Is it insanely more 'juicy' than Omni 2?
I would experiment - been using Omnisphere for years. V2 works well on my system - but can get juicy. And there is no sensibly simple way to keep V2 alongside V3.
