Well, you could also ask yourself how many kilotons of waste would have been saved if apple adopted earlier the USC type C for their iPhones... or the confort for people if they adopted the standard of communications (mastered since 20 years) for communication between iMessage and Whatsapp.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 3:20 pmSometimes I wonder what the plugin world would be like if all the development hours spent on making things compatible for a constantly changing Apple architecture went to just developing software.ATS wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 7:15 am seems like every time I hear someone mention an Apple product on here it is because something is broken software wise.
This is the ONLY plug in out of literally dozens of synths I have that does this. It is really annoying as hell. I want to upgrade but I think I'll sit this one out.
The last Mac computer I owned was a G5, though I have an MacBook Air that I set up as a Chromebook for my daughter during Covid home school times. I don’t remember it going very well. I remember developers like Native Instruments, which I use a lot, didn’t have Apple Intel versions for a really long time. There was a looping plugin called Möbius that I wanted to use that was only for Windows, so that was that. (Years later they did release a Mac version) I have no use for a laptop, so I don’t care. I just want a machine that does what I want it to do with as little fuss and expense as possible. For me, that’s a machine running Windows.Jac459 wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 3:34 pmWell, you could also ask yourself how many kilotons of waste would have been saved if apple adopted earlier the USC type C for their iPhones... or the confort for people if they adopted the standard of communications (mastered since 20 years) for communication between iMessage and Whatsapp.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 3:20 pmSometimes I wonder what the plugin world would be like if all the development hours spent on making things compatible for a constantly changing Apple architecture went to just developing software.ATS wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 7:15 am seems like every time I hear someone mention an Apple product on here it is because something is broken software wise.
Doing good isn't really the priority clearly.
But Apple Silicon is NOT part of the bad thing they did. First, as an ex-Laptop PC user, it is a far far superior technology for laptops, second they handled the transition quite well, in a day to day basis and since 3 years I moved, I have 0 issues.
Finally, Microsoft is also starting to invest and showing sign of willingness to try again a move to ARM/RISC architecture (they did attempt 10 year ago). So basically, the problem of compatibility you are mentioning will also come to windows soon.... (along with a hopefully a new range of super CPU that will help me transition back to PC).
I'm trying to do it as you say, using an alternate source to the OSC value, but if I play a chord, the oscs are outputting sound or muted, not sure if I'm doing it the right way. What I want is to load a couple of samples to different oscs and for them to be assigned randomly notes of the chord I'm playing, not sure if this is possible at the moment.msvs wrote: Sat Nov 25, 2023 9:17 amyes, you could do that via modmatrix... random alternating source to volume of each of the oscsjuansep wrote: Fri Nov 24, 2023 9:22 pm Is it possible to round-robin/random midi notes to different oscillators/samples? Say for example I have osc 1 with a saw wave and osc 2 with a sample and I play a chord, some notes will play the saw wave and some the sample. Would like to know if there is a way. Thanks!
Thank you so much. That was the problem!zvenx wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 5:52 pm Did you use a custom location in avenger 1? Avenger 2 seems to default to a specific location. I had to change it to see my avenger 1 stuff.
