[quote="rpc9943"]no we're not. I have more than an inkling that things are around the bend.

What would be the point of dumping dollars into a second Yugo, especially buyers burned by Ultimate Bundle 3.
It's finished.

I disagree.PV_INC wrote:While not wanting to step on anyones feet (unavoidable though), I think that if tracktion would be abandoned, it would be a good thing.

I respect your opinion, now here's mine. I am glad there are several DAW's to choose from. For one it allows us to choose one that not only fits our workflow but also our thought patterns. T2/T3 is the only DAW that immediately clicked with me. Most of the other DAW's seemed liked they were patched together over the years to accommodate this or that. Tracktion was the only one that "stayed out of the way".
Now, a user can learn to be productive in any of them. IMO, none were as intuitive as Tracktion. Yeah, sometimes I didn't like small bugs like the first note bug and so on and so on, but I think on the whole, T2/T3 is anything but clunky(IMO). I hope that some developer, preferably Mackie, continues to develop this great app.

T2 is already selling in Mackie's site for like 25 bucks... Maybe we will soon see Tracktion given away for free, like Propellerheads' Rebirth.

I guess until I know Tracktion is officially not being developed anymore. I still have hope. I would just hate to see this app completely disappear.

It really would be a shame, and I think that even those of us who got frustrated with bugs and moved on to other apps feel that way even more so. I had to open T3 a few nights ago, just to export some projects I'm finishing up in Reaper, and I was instantly reminded of what a pleasure it is to use.flamin-gitaur wrote:I guess until I know Tracktion is officially not being developed anymore. True, I did not. Mine is just a little tiny bit more than an inkling, just that.rpc9943 wrote:well you also didnt do any "research"... talking around to key people.paveloso wrote:I have more than an inkling that they're not happening at all.rpc9943 wrote:I have more than an inkling that things are around the bend.

I don't really have an interest at all in doing any "research" on T.

T3 wasn't really on display at Winter NAMM 08 either (big fan fare in 07). No secret, Loud Tech/Mackie = financial issues. I can't see why they'd 'abandon' T all together, they can continue to sell/package it like they did recently at Costco with minimal investment, but I don't think they have much motivation or resources to support/develop it either.
I hope someone with resources does pick it up as long as we don't get a R.Nichols in which current users don't get support. In the meantime, I'm using T3 and trying to learn PT8... begrudgingly

Loud tech's a crap name IMO. SHould've stuck with Mackie - everyone knew the name.
I make music: progressive-acoustic | electronica/game-soundtrack work | progressive alt-metal

Part of the reason Loud Technologies is screwed:

The financial situation is a lot worse than is being let on. I just hope that the dump Tracktion in a bid to gain some capital and some other developer can give it the attention it needs. Unfortunately, I believe it will just wither away as Loud Technologies does.

Nice find but OUCH !!!!! Unfortunately I have no doubt that Traction is on the bottom of their list on things to do right now. Even if Loud Technologies weathers this storm out which I highly doubt they will reading this bit of news, it will be 4 to 8 months before we can even begin to hope for any upgrades of ANY kind. Personally IMO this bit of news simply clarifies what most of us have already suspected for quite some time now. Unless there is a buyer for Traction we are sitting on a DEAD product.LBN wrote:Part of the reason Loud Technologies is screwed:

Why would we want to call you anything Ron? If you're happy with it, use it. I'm just happy that we have other options. Never put all your eggs in one basket. This is the perfect example.rpc9943 wrote:im not losing hope until they announce its over.
